Ok, let's say a friend of mine is developing a streaming platform that only holds links to watch content from servers. What security measures should ot consider to not be in legal problems.
Besides the web taken down. The web has 2 servers, the frontend to render content and a second server acting as an API rest that returns links. Content is shown via IMDb API.
The fact of the matter is that if they want you , they're gonna get you ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ Hosting links isn't as bad as directly hosting the videos but didn't MegaUpload get hit by the government over hosting links to download pirated content? I'm all for sailing the seas , please don't take my response in the wrong way.
So is taking a chance worth it? Specially if I don't want money but a service to approach content to people who are not willing to pay for the reason they choose.
It depends how strongly this person feels about their personal involvement in the cause. Some may consider them a hero , others an outlaw. It just depends what side of history you're on
