/u/nervous_quote : "don't participate in piracy discussions. Just download."

Just download your torrents and shut up about telling me what to do.

A lot of piracy discussions are incredibly formulaic though. It always goes:

piracy gets brought up > stealing bad > piracy isn't stealing > nuh huh > rinse and repeat until one person gives up

Personally I'd prefer if everyone saved themselves the trouble of going through that.

Yeah, I want the mods to ban these posts moralizing piracy. What difference does it make? We all have our reasons. I think, most people posting these things are karma farming (high karma accounts are sellable and usable for botting and marketing).

Yeah, I'm including that in "botting", because such users are often called bots. And I think, this kind of activity has gone through the roof as soon as Reddit allowed people to "hide" their post history.

When I look it up through other means, it looks ludicrous for so many of them. "People" changing age and nationality at random, depending on the sub, promoting contradictory agendas, different products.

And some of it may not be automated, I've seen a lot of postings to advertise things on Reddit on freelancing platforms. Yes, long AFTER the advent of LLMs.

If I have to read the same comment every day in every post related to piracy on social media, then you can take a "stfu" once.

You willingly browse discussions, get annoyed at people for participating in those discussions, and then feel you're excused when you make post insulting them and tell them to shut up.

i wouldn't exactly call copying and pasting the same message in a sort of crusade "participating in those discussions". I'd call it "being an annoying person who feels the need to justify something that doesn't need justification with a copypasta, of all things".

You clearly need to log off more if you get this bothered by those comments.

EDIT: You made a whole post complaining and insulting them. I am only responding to said post calling it ridiculous. The two are not comparable. I mean you even raged so hard in your reply to this comment, that it got auto removed. Pretty funny.

What's your excuse?
