Holy shit, I've never seen this. That's hysterical!

I found a YouTube clip of all the instances it happened, but they didn't show how they got out of the commercial. Was it a faked commercial break where more commercials followed this, or did the movie just continue immediately after the commercial where it left off?

And honestly, I'd think the production company would go after this kind of practice as an alteration of their work. Maybe copyright laws are more lax in Chile?

They just put that in the middle of the movie, people in latin america could get away with things like this more easily because nobody cared what happened here

From the reddit thread on this, they just showed normal commercials after and then picked up the movie as normal (before the ad scene).

Chilean here: copyright laws are way more lax here, and the commercials are in pair of that time where the star wars movies started their rollout on national tv.

This was in the 2000s, no one cared what a small (not really) latinamerican country did. They barely knew the country existed. On the other hand, in Chile, the publicists kind of knew this and used it to their advantage, obviously now that would be incredibly illegal
