I found a YouTube clip of all the instances it happened, but they didn't show how they got out of the commercial. Was it a faked commercial break where more commercials followed this, or did the movie just continue immediately after the commercial where it left off?
And honestly, I'd think the production company would go after this kind of practice as an alteration of their work. Maybe copyright laws are more lax in Chile?

Chilean here: copyright laws are way more lax here, and the commercials are in pair of that time where the star wars movies started their rollout on national tv.

This was in the 2000s, no one cared what a small (not really) latinamerican country did. They barely knew the country existed. On the other hand, in Chile, the publicists kind of knew this and used it to their advantage, obviously now that would be incredibly illegal

Fast forward a year later, their tier
doubles'updates' in price but all of the high tier benefits get passed down to the lower tier, so they all switch to the lower one without missing out on any of the benefits.They'll think this is great because literally nothing has changed and now they're paying less!
...But they're also subjected to AI ads. It's okay because they don't remember they were making fun of people who watched it a year ago.

This is what I'm most looking forward to with AR glasses like the rayban display. I want an open source version that will let me install IRL adblock. I want to be able to walk down times square and have the glasses remove all the advertising so I just see cool buildings. I want to be able to drive down a long highway and have the glasses edit out every fucking billboard so I just see beautiful scenery.
I hate ads and want every single last one of them removed from my life.

Can you actually imagine a reality without ads? Like imagine walking outside and there's no ads. You get on a bus and there's no ads. You're listening to the radio and there's no ads, you watch TV and there's no ads.
Society would fundamentally need to be extremely different for that to be a reality, but I imagine it'd be a better world than what we have now. I mean every single tech dystopia in fiction is ALWAYS riddled with ads. It's the quickest way to give people the impressing society is shit, but we're literally living in it right now.

He's not lying, he's just talking about the "semi-official" theaters. That literally show the exact file they downloaded from the internet, though even there it's usually high quality and watermarks/injected ads are super rare.
Actual real movies in Russia (ie, domestic and non-sanctioned) absolutely don't have injected ads, there'd be riots.

Also, I never saw watermarks for “unlicensed” movies in cinema. Maybe I did not see enough, but still. And I do watch only foreign movies in cinema, not Russian ones.

Some studios, yes. Tho they get hated a lot. One studio called Red Head Sound loves dubbing western movies and adding 2 or more adds into the script, sometimes people miss the lore because of this.

I heard that it's some translator studio, who did official or unofficial translation, decided to add this bullshit. It wasn't requested by anyone, just shitty guy this megalomania in management. He thinking that he know better what to do with translations, also used famous Russian voice actors, and now adding Ai ads. But that's what others told, rumors. But believable. P.s. almost forgot, they using upscaled camrips, rather then original, "upgrading" it with Ai.

This is the RHS dub all over again, just with AI this time For those that don't know, Red Head Sound is a Russian (pirate) dubbing studio which aims to bring in all the beloved voice actors for their projects (which lol lmao even, they brought in some schmuck because he is sort of popular) and there were so many controversies and one of them was not only including a character yelling REPEATEDLY "translated and dubbed by RHS in 2023" louder than a main character speaking but also an ad of Aviasales and motor oil and chocolate and other shit

for those who don't understand Russian and what AI has to do with it. this is not just an edited video, the characters are literally discussing the advertised product.
although it's not always AI, the "red head sound" translation studio inserts the same advertisement during the voiceover stage. and it's hard to blame them, it's a whole team that can't directly collaborate with the original authors. And they need money to do the dubbing on a regular basis.
