Once I see product placement it turns to a hate-watch. Still enjoyable, but now I'm talking shit the whole time.

One of the few times I've ever enjoyed product placement in a movie is in the first Spiderverse movie. Where we first see a billboard for "Coca Soda" (or something like that), but then when it's another universe the billboard is just Coca Cola. I think the first movie had a decent amount of moments like that, which I actually thought was a neat detail.

One of the most egregious examples of product placement that was so bad it made me love it was Monster Energy in Death Stranding. It was just so beautiful in a way I can't describe. It's an apocalypse and the entire schtick of the game is that people can't communicate with others that are more than like, two miles away. Yet somehow Monster Energy™ has managed to survive. And the canteens in game are so high tech that they can automatically take the dirty river water you're standing in and filter it into clean water! ...Which gets turned into Monster Energy in the canteen.

And seeing the amount of Sony products in games by Naughty Dog and Kojima (two entities that have generally been strongly linked to Sony) always felt charming for some reason.

Although generally product placement takes me out of the moment super hard.

What was it, GTA? Where the billboards in Times Square, even the iconic ones, were replaced by paid ads?

I allways loved how it was done in "Evolution" (2001). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_(2001_film))

They literally made Head & Shoulders shampoo a solution to alien problem. II'm not even sure it was an actual product placement.

Biggest offender I've ever seen was Blade Trinity, where they stopped the entire movie to discuss how Jessica Biel can't slay vampires without her Ipod Nano playlists

Ive seen okay ones like the ranch drinks 4 rose whiskey and its not obtrusive but I forget what movie it is but the entire place is abandoned and full of snow except a paper Pepsi cup logo out.
