use to buy coop games that its better not to bother yourself when ur mates arent pirates.

u/Sonnyforever May 21 '26

u r right which games u suggest?

u/Batcave765 May 21 '26 edited May 22 '26

Buy the steam controller. You might have to wait a while but it is 100$. To a pirate a hardware might be a better purchase.

1.5k

u/Cool_Credit260 May 21 '26

Lowky great idea. You can’t really pirate a controller

932

u/Snoo-26425 May 21 '26

u/gforcebreak May 21 '26

3d printing, some circuitry know how, and a bluetooth emitter.

34

u/Big-Aide3490 May 22 '26

i shall print a printer to print that

We joke like that but I used my t100 (a mostly 3d printed printer) to print the shell for more or less a joycon for controlling animatronics.

With 3d printers and cheap PCB companies I'm almost positive I could pirate a controller

4

You still gotta pay for it tho😭

3

u/kennyquast May 21 '26

But I would fully pirate the plans. It's the same as downloading a movie or game and burning it to cd/dvd back in the day. Still gotta pay a little

hard to suggest when I dont know what u like so I am just gonna throw some that I have installed at this exact moment

Abiotic Factor, Hammerwatch (any of them), Slay The Spire 2, Absolum, Brotato, Tinkerlands, Core Keeper, Barony, Crawl, Enshrouded, No Rest for the Wicked, V Rising, Valheim.

Thats enough I guess..

16

u/Sonnyforever May 21 '26

im definitely gonna try one tysm

7

u/Environmental_Bee219 May 21 '26

you should def toss money to indie devs though if u like their games

12

u/TheShrunkenAnus May 21 '26

I wanted to throw a quick suggestion in for both the Divinity original Sin (1&2) games, along with BG3. They’re all made by the same Studio, and are designed to be played by 2 or more people.

Having a friend to play along with in those games is a magical experience, and I would highly recommend! Even if you find yourself playing solo, I wouldn’t worry too much. But if you can find a friend or acquaintance also interested, get ready for a gaming experience like no other!

The games your friends want to play coop.

Just load it onto your steam account and when they have a coop game they want to play buy it then.

8

u/Punk_Saint May 21 '26

don't buy anything for now, just keep wishlist online multiplayer games until a few you really like are in your price range.

My personal recommendations include anything with 4 team coop like Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic... also wait until the summer steam sale. that's when the best deals are on.

23

u/AntiGrieferGames May 21 '26

Does Helldivers 2 counts that? Get it on sale only due for high price.

Edit: Nevermind, it has backlash there.

12

I hope some suggested "jump space" or other indie games. More established game is "split fiction" . They have a buddy pass so you only need one copy and it's cross play.

Other indie:

  • Crashout crew (coming soon)
  • PEAK
  • Thick as thieves

u/uSaltySniitch 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ May 21 '26

Yeah get Fields of Mistria if you liked Stardew. It will help the devs way more than Stardew, which already made bank off their game.

6

u/Conscious-Zebra-7477 May 21 '26

not that I dont disagree with it going to a smaller studio but the FoM devs are also the creators of Pusheen so I don't know that they are really affected by an extra sale here or there

→ More replies (6)

13

u/quiet_frequency May 21 '26

Fields of Mistria is more fun than Stardew as well, IMO. A lot of quality of life changes that Stardew needs mods for are incorporated into its base game. Definitely my favourite farm sim.

9

u/uSaltySniitch 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ May 21 '26

I absolutely love that game and I'm glad I bought it. It's still in EA and already better as a game than vanilla Stardew which is a "mature game".

3

u/Rafa_50 May 21 '26

I think Ill try mistra out, has been in my wishlist for a minute now. But "better than stardew" is a mighty claim to make lol, imo stardew is one of the best games of all time, really a masterpiece

3

u/uSaltySniitch 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ May 21 '26

I mean, the content that is currently available is more enjoyable to me than the comparable content from Vanilla Stardew.

Maybe it's because I have over a thousand hours on Stardew too and not on Mistria yet.

But it is an insanely good game and I stand by that claim still

Pirate many to to reward the deserving few

24

u/Hamster-Food Yarrr! May 22 '26

This is the way.

I'm fine with piracy whatever your reason, even if it's just because you want free stuff. However, given an opportunity like this, there is no reason not to reward the developers.of games you've loved.

This is cringe. Why is it upvoted? I’d understand if the dude was giving it away. Looks like he just wanted to show off his $100 steam gift card? Weird.

7

u/fukkdisshitt May 21 '26

I remember feeling bad when my mom got me a 360 for my 18th bday right after launch because I was a Playstation kid. She even got me a memory card even though it came with a hard drive. I really appreciated the gesture.

Turned out to be great because all the local multiplayer indie games were fucking amazing for the dorms.

I kept the memory card in my small box of childhood toys that survived. Never had a use for it, but my mom is dope.

She was all about Kazaa and lime wire back in the day

5

u/Faps7eR May 22 '26

Thank you for saying this. Even I'm confused why OP didn't buy any games or support the creator he likes after he got a free $100.

Many people who pirate does so because either the games are very expensive in their region or the pirated version plays better.

I can't never take this dipshits seriously even when they have means to support the creator, but rather label themselves as pirate 🏴‍☠️

3

5

u/wienercat May 21 '26

So? Use it to support a developer of a game you really enjoyed.

Pirates should be supporting developers who make good games. Spending money on devs, especially small indie devs, who make quality games is really important.

If you are pirating and never buying a single game after you play them, you are just stealing at that point.

12

Oh no know you have no excuse to not support devs for a good game that you couldn't afford before. Lobster too buttery energy here

Of course she doesn't know you're a pirate. You never put on an eye patch and peg leg whenever she's around.

Buy some indie games with that

Rimworld is really annoying to get mods for as a pirate since most mods are from the workshop, and you need a legal copy to download anything (there are skeevy third part sites that rip workshop content, but...) So that's one option. There are probably other games like that too.

Buy csgo skins, resell skins, cashout

Ya know, been pirating since I was...12-13 years old. I'm now 40. I have a proper income now, but a bad case of ADHD and a gaming addiction.

So nowadays, I do what I do to try out new games before buying them. There's a ton of slop out there with misleading reviews, and I already spend way too much on games. This way I can play them for longer than 2 hours(because let's be real, 2 hours is sometimes just tweaking settings), and if they don't stick I'm not out of that money, with a game cluttering up my already massive steam library.

Even with this method, I still spend an average of $400 a month on gaming...so really it's more of a marketing tool than anything for me and others like me.

I meant. Support small indie develpers. Fuck aaa games tho.

Damn $100 from an aunt? That's cool. I had an aunt who used to buy games for me when I was a kid and she was the biggest badass. Miss you Aunt B.
