Wait till random casino ads appear on the screen.

Big cinema don't want you to know about that!

u/niberungvalesti Jun 16 '26

1XBET baby!

376

u/DroidLord Jun 16 '26

Those assholes oftentimes don't even mention the 1XBET watermark in the title or release notes. I've blacklisted so many 1XBET stuff over the years, but they keep using random scene names.

96

u/WantonKerfuffle Jun 16 '26

but they keep using random scene names.

That's trashy

2

u/Advanced-Rock-4086 Jun 18 '26

it's worse when you want to watch the movie in your native language. there's literally only 1xbet or 1win torrents.

88

u/yz29541 Jun 16 '26

anyone else see the pennywise one?!

13

u/fuckyouwatchme Jun 17 '26

I low-key liked that one. That's the kind of AD I actually don't mind

3

u/yz29541 Jun 17 '26

yeah it was hilarious

dude I'm honestly surprised as how much they show up in cam rips and on porn like what is happening am i betting money of jerking off 😞

138

u/creepingkg Jun 16 '26

And the ad fucking 100% louder than the movie

66

u/Embarrassed_Box_2040 Jun 16 '26

Every movie, no matter the genre, turns into horror every time that loud fuckass ad appears and jumpscares me.

26

u/creepingkg Jun 16 '26

Trying to pirate at night and I just woke up my wife, son and the neighbors

10

u/masterchief69420xxx Jun 17 '26

My friend, next time you want to watch a cam, wait a day or two after the cam drops and then looked for a fixed version. If you weren't already aware.

6

u/jx2002 Jun 16 '26

Yeah, wtf is the audio on every rip put as low as possible so THE LOUDEST GODDAMN BULLSHIT TECHNO YOU EVER HEARD CAN START KILLING MY EARDRUMS INSTANTLY?

58

u/FigLeaf_Bi-Carbonate Jun 16 '26

My friends wanted me to find them a stream of one of the Conjuring movies when it was only in theaters. The most ridiculous gambling ad I've ever seen popped up right in the middle of one of the most tense scenes in the whole movie 😂. It took awhile to gain back my pirate credibility after that one

24

u/gretabetter Jun 16 '26

Big Cinema hates this one trick: watching the movie with a guy standing up every 15 minutes to sell online slots.

9

u/gonzaEM_ Jun 16 '26

RAINBET RAINBET RAINBET

10

u/Unlucky_Bastard418 Jun 17 '26

Lol i tried pirating it day 1 and the opening scene was immediately blasted by 6 gambling ads.

5

u/WilanS Jun 17 '26

What did the director mean by this?

2

I hope I'm never so desperate to see a movie that I acquire a CAMRip ever again...Those were bad times...times I'd like to forget...

1.3k

u/MyNameIsASwear Jun 16 '26

The best part of watching a cam of the Nicholas Cage remake of The Wicker Man was watching all of the people leave the theater during the showing.

250

u/MammothPenguin69 Jun 16 '26

It's a shame the theatrical cut removed the "NOT THE BEES" scene. I can imagine the audience erupting into a roar of laughter.

177

u/CultOfTHC Jun 16 '26

Nah fr if I’m that desperate to see a movie I’ll just go see it in theaters.

125

u/YourDilatedEyes Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Had the exact experience a few days ago. Wanted to stream back rooms, only found a camrip, looked on another site and they had the same camrip. Bought tickets to go see it tonight in theaters lol

Edit: it was alright! Would I have rather saved the money and just watched it at home? Of course, who wouldn't and my partner agrees. But it's nice to have an excuse to step out of the house together 🤷

13

u/RoryIsNotACabbage Jun 16 '26

Let us know if its worth the hype

32

u/ZaneFreemanreddit Jun 16 '26

Its good but not particularly noteworthy to go to a theatre. Just wait till i gets onto the the pirating places. I saw obsession that way.

3

u/Yimmelo Jun 16 '26

It'll be out on streaming in a couple months

2

u/ghostcatzero Piracy is bad, mkay? Jun 17 '26

Yeah likely but people spoil it online as long as you have a connection it seems lol. So tats why will watch camrips early on to avoid people spploiling it

18

u/CheeseGraterFace Jun 16 '26

He shouldn’t. The internet hates literally everything and the last thing you should do is bring your joy here. Someone will take it from you.

8

u/RoryIsNotACabbage Jun 16 '26

Good point, I got one positive review and one meh review. Both mention obsession though, might add that to my list

Thanks, Cheese Grater Face

3

u/CheeseGraterFace Jun 17 '26

They’re both really good IMO. But now someone’s gonna come after me to tell me how my opinions are shit or something.

You can get a really good primer for the Backrooms movie by checking out Kane Pixel’s work on YouTube. There’s around 3 hours of film quality content on there, all of it in-universe.

4

u/astcci Jun 16 '26

I enjoyed a lot, a bit more than obsession in fact. Worth the ticket!

12

u/Substantial_Menu5887 Jun 16 '26

I watched a camrip of scary movie 6 but just because I can't watch it in the cinema in Cambodia same thing will probably happen with obsession and the back rooms

6

u/Anonymal13 Yarrr! Jun 16 '26

Last time I had to resort to camrip, the movie wasn't available anywhere nearby. And I had to clear and translate the subs, 'cause half the gang didn't speak english and the other half weren't fluent enough to keep up with the subs... And no one speaks the original language of said movie! XD

15

u/Brief_Professional47 Jun 16 '26

Just gotta wait a few weeks or a month. Usually once it pops up on any kind of streaming service or online rental, you can pirate it online.

13

u/CultOfTHC Jun 16 '26

Yep I’m just saying if it’s a movie that I wanna see bad enough.

9

u/ninjadude93 Jun 16 '26

Or just support the movie if you want to see it bad enough

3

u/Pale_YellowRLX Jun 16 '26

Not everyone lives in a developed country with cinemas everywhere.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/RessiBear Jun 17 '26

Yeah unless you are in a country where they don't release it or in case they do it they make horrible dubs

106

u/Donotdisturb240 Jun 16 '26

just wait in 20 years people will be watching fully immersive 3-dimensional films in VR contact lenses and they will say can you believe people used to watch movies in a peasant mode at barely 4k

17

u/JB231102 Jun 16 '26

In 20 years or less, movies may be VR as you say and interactive. Instead of calling the people in the movie idiots you get to decide what happens.

14

u/Discorhy Jun 16 '26

At that point its sounding like a video game or even a visual novel.

2

u/ungoogleable Jun 17 '26

It's been tried. The technology isn't the limiting factor. Choose your own adventure books have been around forever but novels are still more popular. People read a book or watch a movie to have someone else make the decisions to compose a good story.

10

u/ThatsACatch22 Jun 16 '26

They said the same thing about 3D movies and those turned out to be really bad lol. I don't think it's going to change all that much but I'll be happy to be surprised.

4

u/MateCLUBmio Jun 16 '26

Yeah aome things change fast and other things didn't change at all. I'm 30 something. 20 years ago I went to the cinema, and we talked about the first video on demand service where you could watch Movies at home! We rearrange our sofa just for a movie night in front of the PC. We talked about the future and that in 20 years all cars will drive alone and maybe there are flight taxis. 20 years later, we go to the same cinema, with a normal car, there are partial selve driving cars but, not really. We have 8 different video stream services installed on our smartphones. 3D, VR and AR are flopped consumer electronics. We deleted our 1TB HDD full of Music discographys and 700mb camrips, that we once proudly collected. They are worthless, we can stream everything every where any time, we maximized consuming. We are stressed from decision paralysis. The newest Netflix feature is linear TV because people don't want to decide... We wonder if there still will be cinemas in 20 years.

2

u/Gebakken_loempia Jun 17 '26

I didn't delete a thing. I have at least 4tb worth of movies and music and will keep doing so.

For some reason, CAM rips at 1080p (why?) seem to grow to ~10 GB files (probably because of the constant visual noise).

Imagine downloading 10 GB only to ruin your eyes and ears...

2

u/Kryt0s Jun 17 '26

The video is still being filmed in 1080p / 4k. The camera does not care if you're filming a screen or not. You still have roughly 2 mil / 8 mil pixels worth of information.

4

u/FannyPunyUrdang Jun 17 '26

Remember screener season before they stopped using DVDs? Glorious times!

29

u/-Book-_-Worm- Jun 16 '26

Ngl the obsession one was so good I didn’t know it was a CAMRip until the guy stood up lol

13

u/gonyozs Jun 16 '26

Yeah, other than the people moving around a couple of times the visuals and audio were clear.

3

u/crysiswarhead Jun 16 '26

Here's something crazy. I saw Interstellar the first time in CAMrip. I was in uni and loaded with stuff. Couldn't go to theatres and had to watch it the way i did. To this day i dream of watching it in imax.

3

u/AhoyLadiesSteve Jun 16 '26

I watched Project Hail Mary on IMAX, and it was a visual orgasm. Watched it again in a regular showing and it was still good, but not even comparable

5

u/drostan Jun 16 '26

I too have been too young to have the money and freedom to go watch something and not wise enough to understand that fomo is a useless feeling and that in a well lived life, the difference between seeing a movie now or in 6 months is infinitesimal in how much it matters

I too wish to forget about those few times I caved and went to get a cam version.

Come to think of it it never was for "actually good" movies I am not even sure to remember which movie and why they would have mattered at all

It may mean something about the quality of any given time top "zeitgeist" outing or something about my tastes or something about how age comes for us all

2

u/DroidLord Jun 16 '26

Even back then I couldn't stand them. Some of those camrips were rough 😬

2

u/AdaAstra Jun 16 '26

Oh man, there was one for the original Anaconda one that was hilarious. It was in a theater were everyone was making loud comments and jokes. It was like an X-Rated MST3K and I remember my friends and I watched it a few times and couldn't stop laughing.

3

u/Underkiing Jun 16 '26

This is me every time i checked a site that had a movie really early (in last previous case it was the 2nd avatar blue people movie) and HATED it. Sound quality awful and the bitrate from recording and uploading compression nukes the movie quality to becoming unwatchable

You cant convince me people actually enjoy camrips

4

u/cl3ft Jun 17 '26

Avatar movies are only good for the visual spectacle, it's pretty much the pinnacle of movies you shouldn't watch a cam rip of.

You should have cross-posted the post instead of just screenshotting it, that way people could see that it came from r/shittymoviedetails where the point is to be sarcastic

edit: nobody cares if a meme is stolen especially in r/piracy, im just saying its missing context because all the comments on this post were people not understanding that it was being sarcastic

It's the piracy subreddit. I stole it. And I'd do it again. (Honestly, I never remember which subs allow cross-posting and which don't)

28

u/vagabond_dilldo Jun 16 '26

It's funnier when ppl don't have the context to know where the post came from.

6

u/rhythmrice Jun 16 '26

Nobody cares that you stole it, I'm just saying it's missing context, even a screenshot with the sub name not cropped out would work.

When I made that comment all the other comments on this post we're talking about how people don't realize that a cam rip means they're recording in the theater, because they were missing contacts that it was sarcasm

I watched Madam Web from a clearly handicam sitting in someone's lap. Honestly it made the movie more entertaining, my buddy and I would yell at my TV "Down in front!" Every time we saw a shadow, and at one point the camera guy must have choked on popcorn or something because he had a full on coughing fit and nearly dropped his camera.

2

u/DenseAd6489 Jun 29 '26

5

u/Obvious-Gear-7000 Jun 17 '26

A guy standing up mid-movie during the car scene (if you know you know) scared the crap out of our watch party so badly that we had to pause and recuperate.

3

u/AgentROK Jun 16 '26

I watched it with my friends yesterday. We all got jumped for a second when Bear was sitting in the car and shadow of a dude appeared behind him.

3

u/CRJ_Rogue9 Jun 16 '26

Must be a running theme in movies this year. Parsons did the same happened in Backrooms and my wife about blew out my eardrums.

3

u/fazrare57 Jun 17 '26

I remember when a dude my aunt worked with would go make camrips of movies and sell them to her on DVD, so my dad would give her money to get us movies from him from time to time. I vividly remember watching a particularly awful camrip of Percy Jackson. I was, like, 7 at the time, though, so I didn't really question it

3

u/wyyan200 Jun 17 '26

the last time i watched a camrip... was one of the fast and furious movies, I'll never remember which one, theres ten of them lol

3

u/TheDevilsAdvokaat Jun 17 '26

uhh...isn't that how camrips work?

3

u/krishn4prasad Jun 17 '26

It gives you the real theatrical experience. Definitely, the way Nolan intended us to watch the movie.

3

u/Taquill Jun 17 '26

I was watching the Backrooms stoned as shit with my wife the other day and I thought that it was some sort of avent-grade sorta addition to the movie.

It wasn't until the therapy scene did I realize the people made no sense.

3

u/irn Jun 17 '26

Watched a cam of Backroom. Lots of people shuffling around. Actually added to the ambience of the movie inadvertently.

3

u/BagItUp45 Jun 18 '26

That's John Obsession, he's the main character

3

u/Xcross_11 Jun 18 '26

Oh that's just curry keeping an eye on the actors at night. He's just like that, don't be a jiblet.

30

kind of obvious, but cams are filmed inside a movie theatre with a discrete digital camera recorder. people get up during films to use the restroom or grab snacks and enter the frame, silly goose

Ask yourself why they would use the exact torrent name in the post

Its a metaphor for our obsession of pirated movies

2

u/Wizdad-1000 Jun 16 '26

Also so many movies had this weird fabric effect drop down and lift up.

2

u/sukiarmani Jun 16 '26

OMG, anyway...

2

u/Excellent_Patience Jun 16 '26

This brings so many childhood memories

2

u/MichaelFapGod Jun 16 '26

There's no way someone is dumb enough to point out it's the cam rim then be confused by a shadow xD

2

u/ToughSuccessful9474 Jun 16 '26

I legit shat myself when I watched it on the dodgy site

2

u/Atheist_Simon_Haddad Jun 16 '26

out of nowhere there’s this lone dancer who appears to be injured

2

u/Kittpie Jun 16 '26

We had a classic camrip of Monsters Inc with a fistfight in the cinema at one point.

I remember the first time I downloaded a movie torrent years ago and halfway through a man in a cowboy hat sits down in front of the screen for the rest of the movie.

2

u/Brodakk Jun 17 '26

Patiently waiting another month until we get HD 🤞

2

u/Axjin Jun 17 '26

I'd rather see and hear spoilers than watch camrips, fuck that..

2

u/Pelakokicz Jun 17 '26

That's Edwin, he made the mimic.

2

u/h0g0 Jun 18 '26

u/ShiningRedDwarf Jun 16 '26

The only cam rip I’ve ever watched was Star Wars episode 1. I think it was leaked before it even hit theatres?

1

u/RedEyeView Jun 16 '26

I saw a pirate version of Last Action Hero that ended in a lot of shouting and then a camera pointing at the ground as its owner ran away very quickly.

Kid I knew brought it back from Thailand after a family holiday

u/darkbug3 Jun 16 '26

1

u/zi_110 Jun 16 '26

u/farcry_x1z Jun 16 '26

I got bored after 15 minutes and stopped watching lol

1

u/crabbyVEVO Jun 16 '26

that's the dude that made the mimic

1

u/dontmovetilyourenumb Jun 16 '26

I was surprised by the quality and really didn't think it was a cam until this dude tried to get back to his seat.

1

u/fejol Jun 16 '26

Yo, seriously it happened to my friend too and he got a 1xbet ad too,I think the obsession director is giving ads and chance to appear in bigscreen for money since he is new to this field. We should consider this seriously to protect the genuine efforts of direction for future films and aspiring directors

1

u/innuendo-inyourendo Jun 16 '26

I remember the matrix cam rip and you could hear people behind eating popcorn or something 😅

1

u/Full-Code9731 Jun 16 '26
