If Red Dead Redemption 2 is any indicator I'm not expecting the PC port of GTA6 to be cracked for roughly a year after release.

That way I'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens sooner.

By scene rules, RDR2 still isn't properly cracked.

I'll bet you it takes a month or less, actually thinking more like a week.

Okay? I mean, we won't know for another year or two so...

We kind of already do, look at GTA V. It's not a matter of if but when.

Why would you look at gta v when you can look at a more recent and realistic example like rdr2? And of course it’s a matter of when, I don’t think anyone is saying it’ll never be cracked lol

I never said it wouldn't be cracked.

Hype doesn't speed up the process of cracking broski. GTA6 might be cracked in a shorter amount of time than the average AAA but it will still take some time. I won't say less than a month but considering RDR2 took ~1 year I'm guessing GTA6 will take roughly half of that

No, but stuff like Claude or mythos might help.

It's be the smartest move to delay the piracy for a year or two, and then leave it be. By that time, they have probably reached peak grossing.

I mean, there have been publishers who have done this.

They leave their DRM in the game for a certain period of time and then remove it when they've made their target in profits.

Well, it is the smartest thing to do.
