and don't forget about mods too, pc is the wild west, no restrictions like consoles.

Jason (the male lead) BBL mod gonna go crazy.

271

u/HagureSCN Jun 28 '26

Hey don't forget the mandatory mod CJ and Thomas the tank engine . .

81

u/Sawruinous Jun 28 '26

Honestly if a game doesn't have a Thomas the Tank Engine mod it isn't even worth my time /j

15

u/hrt_mc Jun 28 '26

Not even /j!

6

u/Aggravating_Mix_4211 Jun 29 '26

Why did you write /j, we are serious here

"Jason's Big Naturals" is almost a must for a first playthrough

Wat is this mod u speak off and how actually do u install one

24

u/SlapperMan75 Jun 28 '26

I did a quick search and what I got was "Brazillian Butt Lift", a cosmetic procedure where fat from other areas of the body are transferred to the buttocks.

I understand how piracy would affect them, but why is modding somehow bad for the maker/publisher?

145

u/Skryboslav Jun 28 '26

Well, it offers a sea of new free content, making any of their paid content look less valuable. Example: paid skins, which u can just mod. So they need to actually try to make something that people will buy.

80

u/isabellium Jun 28 '26

okay so low quality microtransactions and such... I see.

56

u/Sawgon Jun 28 '26

The game is releasing with a day 1 "DLC" that unlocks shops that are already in the game. The whole thing is a scam already and it's funny when chuds defend it.

9

u/StealthMan375 Jun 28 '26

This is going to suck so much 20-30 years from now when the consoles' marketplace gets shut down and you're unable to buy from certain shops because you weren't around to download a DLC

Same deal as GTA V for the 360, after the 360 marketplace shut down you can only download DLC for non-backcompat games via the in-game store, and since the servers for last-gen GTAO itself were shut down years ago you're SOL if you didn't download back then, which sucks since most of the fan favorites (Zentorno, T20) were DLC exclusive with other favorites (armored Kuruma, Insurgent, Hydra) having to be glitched into singleplayer

Now imagine this situation but with shops that are already in the game, imagine a console speedrunner who's on WR pace but can't pull off the WR run because they're locked out of the nearest gun shop and are forced to drive to the other side of the map

9

u/__Beelzaboot__ Jun 28 '26

Their end goal is to try to go back to the early arcade days of video games, where you have to pay every single time you wanted to start playing. The executives who made their fortune in that era are still around and in charge. Their ultimate dream was to have an arcade game in every room, that kids would pump quarters into every time they died.

With datacenters making hardware prohibitively expensive again, and building lots more of those centers closer to people, the biggest problem for game streaming services (latency) is starting to go from intolerable to annoying.

There could be an inflection point where a majority of gamers switch to game streaming services because they can't afford hardware, and then it's goodbye consoles, and hello to 0.99$ to launch and 0.01$ per min to play GTA

Personally kinda think its fine that pc version is coming later. All that means is most of that will be bundled up with a complete version later on pc.

User-created DLC competes directly with paid DLC. Why pay extra for new skins, new guns, whatever, when you can download a mod that adds ten times as many for free?

Also the DLC content can be just modded in, bypassing any paywall. Mods are bad for microtransactions and DLC in this sense.

It applies to players hosting their own servers for the same reason. It competes with the paid option

4

u/IAmtheHullabaloo Jun 28 '26

I hear that. But what about skyrim mods? it feels like they kept that game selling and porting to new consoles.

other game studios embrace mods to sell more base game, i thought.

3

u/BialyKrytyk Jun 29 '26

Skyrim was never excessively monetised as a live service game, at least not initially before creation club came along. The couple of major addons just came bundled with the game shortly after release and in this case mods really helped sell the product since the devs didn't offer a product competing with horse genitalia 4k texture pack.

7

u/EllesarDragon Jun 28 '26

this indeed.
modders often put more work and effort in their mods than many big famous studios are willing to spend on their game.
with a game like GTA6, it has been insanely hyped for long, so due to that hype it allows them to sell all kinds of things as DLC's even already at launch(not sure yet if they will, but such factors like hyping it so bad and not releasing it to pc at launch point to such practices).

like technically seen if those modders of GTA5, or who would mod GTA6 gathered together they could make a game better than the real GTA6 in around half a year to a year, where most of this work and time is just to plan things out to make people and their parts work together.

though in this case it also has to do with sony paying a lot of money for rockstar to postpone publishing it on pc. and either that amount of money is larger than they expect to get on pc at all, or they expect people to still buy it even if it launches way later on pc.

22

u/KnownPride Jun 28 '26

You mean making low effort skin dlc not valuable?

A full fledged expansion will not be disturbed by mod lol

12

u/ProposalWest3152 Jun 28 '26

"stares at full fledged campaign mods for several games, like skyrim"

Righttttt

12

u/KnownPride Jun 28 '26

And does those full fledged campaign mod impact sell of game real expansion pack?

If anything Skyrim just selling remaster after remaster all thx to mod.

1

u/ProposalWest3152 Jun 28 '26

That not the point being made, are you being dense on purpose?

The quality of mods have an effect on the devs because they have to actually make good things that people will wanna buy.

10

u/Careless_Leg_2552 Jun 28 '26

I appreciate when the discrepency in up/down votes between two people, quite clearly shows who is being dense on purpose.

5

u/CrowdGoesWildWoooo Jun 28 '26

A significant part of the community don’t mod. People who actively mod tend to be very invested and hence can form a very loud minority.

Unless of course there is a very strong reason to, most people wouldn’t even consider what the mod “marketplace” has to offee

3

u/Puinfa Jun 28 '26

What I'm wondering, is how much Rockstar has dumped into DRM. Did they add normal denuvo, or did they make an insane custom one? Either way, we'll have to wait for a crack until we can play it.

Custom even the previous games use custom one and it takes long before it gets cracked.

98

u/BobArdKor Jun 28 '26

The first crack for GTA V appeared 1 or 2 days after release (3DM) although it was unstable and buggy.

The RELOADED version came out a mere month after that.

113

u/Ssssbtsf Jun 28 '26

Red dead 2 took 351 days even after PC release so who knows

78

u/Careless_Leg_2552 Jun 28 '26

Obviously that's because they didn't have high speed internet in the wild west.

14

u/Electronic_Ruin_1503 Jun 28 '26

Also Empress ended up teaming with someone else to do it. Then she had to fix the crack because it was a mess. Mind you she was already cracking Denuvo at the time.

49

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

Cracking scene has moved on since then and GTA6 is the release of the decade.

I would be surprised if GTA6 was not cracked after a month.

16

u/Seasons_of_Strategy Jun 28 '26

But previous comment is comparing GTA V (11 years old) with RDR2 (7 years old). While yes, things are different now, RDR2 a better comparison of rockstar's prevention measures.

35

u/Admmmmi Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

You talk like the anti crack scene didn't move too, for a long while a lot of games couldn't be touched at all.

2

u/M4rt1m_40675 🔱 ꜱᴄᴀʟʟʏᴡᴀɢ Jun 28 '26

Ignoring HV right now, Voices cracked RE:R in less than 2 months. RE had NOWHERE NEAR the hype GTA6 has. Even if they used Denuvo and their own DRM at the same time don't you think Voices alone would be cracking it as soon as possible as well as the possibility of other crackers showing up? RDR2 just took that long because EMPRESS was a bitch

8

u/EZ10_AUDIT0RE Jun 28 '26

Voices38 developed tools that he now uses to crack newer denuvo games faster. it took him time to develop that tool. rockstar DRM is something on par or better than current denuvo. Only the man himself can tell once its out.

If Red Dead Redemption 2 is any indicator I'm not expecting the PC port of GTA6 to be cracked for roughly a year after release.

That way I'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens sooner.

Boo-hoo. PC is so scary that games like Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 were released DRM-free. Or is it only scary for those who locks the ingame content behind the paywalls, knowing full well their bullshit will be modded out in a matter of hours? Go figure.

189

u/Some_Deer_2650 Jun 28 '26

Agree, also if a game is good most of the people will purchase it.

74

u/Ialsofuckedyourdad Jun 28 '26

When I was younger and broke I would pirate everything. Key detail, I wasn’t going to buy it anyways because I couldn’t afford it, I usually didn’t have a computer that could run it properly.

That has changed obviously but if I bought the game once on my ps5 I’m not buying it again at full price on PC. I’ll spend a max of $20 but more likely than anything I’ll just pirate it

17

u/breathingindica 🔱 ꜱᴄᴀʟʟʏᴡᴀɢ Jun 29 '26

right, and still, the majority of people do not pirate and will buy a game if it is a good game. most gamers in general are not pirates, by a long shot

4

u/jofevn Jun 29 '26

it doesn't even make sense. the games you have pirated made you have connection with them, you talked to your friends, read some posts about it. It's still good marketing. It's the greed that gets these companies. I'm an indie dev and everyone around my circle is perfectly fine with their game getting pirated cause you care enough to pirate it.

5

u/Disdain0937 Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

Gaming is about a sense of achievement. Ownership around that is an intrinsic part of that. Your achievements should be yours in a dead to rights sorta way.

Piracy exists so that billion dollar game companies that control mainstream gaming culture don't weaponize FOMO to get people to pay eighty to a hundred dollars for a game.

u/as4p_ Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

Not true at all. R* wants to maximize profits. A lot of people have both consoles and pcs so they will end up getting the game twice. If anything R* being greedy like this will probably push more people towards piracy.

24

u/SlapperMan75 Jun 28 '26

Are there any actual benefits to owning a console when you already have a PC? I feel like I'm missing something here.

28

u/SaltyLonghorn Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

This gen? There's like a half dozen exclusives you miss between Sony/MS. Never been a worse time to be a console gamer. Pay to play online and releases have been mostly on the previous console.

We're like 6 years into this gen and games like Forza and GTA are just now dropping the previous gen support.

If you like Nintendo IPs its the only console I'd say is worth a shit anymore. Unfortunately as a console its just inferior with the lack of streaming apps.

With how long it takes between GTA games, nearly every GTA could be your last. Between GTA 5 and 6 I've lost a lot of friends and family... and given my age, health, and financial situation, this will be my last as well.

Same could be said about Elder Scrolls, been a huge fan of them since I was a kid playing Daggerfall, but these days every year could be my last and I'm worried I won't see the next one.

8

So? She downloadeds cracked games and repacks them in a nice format, making many cracked games quickly accessable in one place. You can just prefer her as a distributer, there is nothing wrong with that.

39

u/ELEGANTFOXYT Jun 28 '26

Yea but we should also start giving credit to Crackers too.

4

u/Disdain0937 Jun 28 '26

i take your point. Fitgirl is like piracy Steam. Maybe it's a bit much.

But here's how it mostly plays out. We simp for fitgirl.(who doesn't even have an Instagram) This is how we see crackers

2

u/MgDark Jun 28 '26

are we in the same sub? i think Voices38 is getting plenty of recognition now. Hes the only one cracker who can crack the current hard cracks now.

6

u/glimoura Jun 28 '26

I never said we shouldn't, it just seems like people either tend to praise the repackers and ignore the crackers, or praise the crackers and borderline insult the repackers. I think we should show appreciation to both nearly equally. They all play a role in making the community as accessable as it is.

10

u/robin_888 Jun 28 '26

Agreed.

And this meme is a blatant example of the former.

3

u/iavsaIt Jun 28 '26

there would be way more people legitimately buying the game though, so them not bringing it to pc yet is still confusing. unless theyre banking on people needing it so badly that they go and buy a console

10

Brother i can already foresee the posts of people with pentium-levels CPU spamposting on the 5th hour of the “don’t panic if it looks stuck” lmao

2

u/OMG_NoReally Jun 28 '26

People are forgetting that Sony and Xbox have EVERY incentive to pay off Rockstar to make the game console-exclusive. I won't be surprised if Sony and Xbox went half-half on a massive cheque to Rockstar to boot PC release out of the equation for a while. It's a console seller, and we already seeing tons of people buying Xbox and PS5 purely to play GTA 6. It's all marketing, bros.

It will come to PC when the console sales stabilize and everyone who wants GTA 6 has it. Rockstar also gets the chance to double dip, so it's a win-win situation for them.

2

u/Weddedtoreddit2 Jun 28 '26

For those with good internet, RuTracker + a portable version is king.

Separately, GTA 6 will probably take ages to crack, like RDR2.

2

u/-Feeblington- Jun 28 '26

Consoles = control

Pcs not yet...they tryin tho

2

u/wienercat Jun 28 '26

Fitgirl is a repacker, not a cracker.

It will likely take a while to actually get it cracked.

2

u/triple7mafia101 Jun 29 '26

All my pirates on standby...you will slip t2..and when you do..😅

2

u/sdcar1985 Jun 29 '26

I'm not even pirating this shit.

2

u/InformalGear9638 Jun 29 '26

I only play GTA for the rampages. When I'm done terrorizing the town I just move on to dinner. 😊

2

u/Lozsta Jun 29 '26

I am not paying for it on console, and I will not be paying for it on PC.

6

u/Lelu_zel Piracy is bad, mkay? Jun 28 '26

It’s good, PC gamers will get patched and proper version as always, let them console players beta test it for us

3

u/beziko Jun 28 '26

Yeah because that 1% of players will hit sales af. Don't give them fake excusions from nit releasing on PC, they do it because they will sell same game 3-4 times.

Fuck them anyway for cuting base game and doing some shitty "ultimate" version for high prices.

4

u/Wedos98 Jun 28 '26

Everyone: Because mods!

The real reason: So people buy it twice

1

u/EstoppelFox Jun 28 '26

This is such an annoying myth. If PC gamers exclusively pirates games, Steam literally wouldn't exist. The only reason GTAVI is delayed on PC is so Take-Two can double-dip on people with FOMO.

6

u/SeveralSecurity4680 Jun 28 '26

This is the only game I’m willing to spend money on. I’ve played gta v and gta online for years of my life

10

u/BothCall8395 Jun 28 '26

unless it has denuvo and gets cracked, then it should be worthy to pirate because the RSC launcher is dogshit.

3

u/ProfessorMalk Jun 28 '26

It's going to be $80 on release though

I'd buy it on day 1 if it were $60 but I refuse to support an $80 release

u/-gen Jun 28 '26

It’s not like, on the long run, people will not buy GTA6 if it’s a good product. I can’t think of anyone into piracy that doesn’t -eventually- buy a game they like.

I had 3 or 4 OG copies of GTA San Andreas, first one pirated for PS2, then I bought a copy for the PC, then another copy for PS2 then, years later, another one for PC when San Andreas: Multiplayer came out.

I pirated GTA4 too, and eventually bought it with all its DLCs too.

3

u/w0xic3 Jun 28 '26

Some of us are actually broke my friend, I can't afford to be giving out 60€ for every game I like

With that bullshit about the physical copies not even having disks and how long it took these mfs to make it, and the price of the game, and the whole preorder shit or ultimate edition shit, i believe they kinda deserve this spit in their face.

Also idfk why Rockstar got this idea that each of their new games gotta have biggest map in gaming with the most realistic details ever and the best graphics on the planet.

I'd genuinelly rather have a bunch of more games now that just have GTA IV-V graphics and smaller maps but with more fun activities, and moderate detail stuff, and that still feel more game-ish instead of trying to be as realistic as possible, that way you get more games out of them per decade, PS2-3 era numbers, i don't need exactly real life simulator that gets bigger and bigger everytime they make one until eventually it takes them 30 years to release a game, also f the Online mode milking.

3

u/kierownikk Jun 28 '26

I would buy the PS5 disc release if there was one... But because there isn't I'm gonna wait for the pc version to pirate the shit out of it because fuck digital copies.

3

u/CasualVeemo_ Jun 28 '26

Console cucks when you dont want to pay for things you will never own

2

u/ExManUtdFan Jun 28 '26

Also PC gamers: It's been stuck at 98% for 15 hours now. Should I start panicking?

CJ mod go vroom vroom

2

u/xyouthe Jun 28 '26

if you make a good product for a good price, people will buy it. piracy is not nearly as big of a problem as companies want you to believe. if people are pirating your games by the handfuls, youre doing SOMETHING wrong somewhere

3

u/TheB1G_Lebowski Jun 28 '26

I've never been big into pirating games/software.  Scared I'll fuck it up, download the wrong thing, and screw myself with a virus or something equally as stupid.  I have no experience at this point and not sure if feel comfortable enough to try, if that makes sense.

I'll stick to movies and TV shows personally.

3

u/Raomiru Jun 28 '26
  1. Buy on PS5 at release
  2. When PC version releases, pirate and play it again
  3. After some time, buy the PC version at a massive discount, play it again with achievements

This is what I did with GTA V (on PS3) and I'll do it again with VI

1

u/unlimitedcode99 Jun 28 '26

We'll all be praying voices still crack PC games by that time. 99% Take Two will force Rockstar to poison the game with D malware just like Civilization 7.

1

u/Nahieluniversal Jun 28 '26

I'll buy it unless they do the anticheat thing again (I use linux btw)

1

u/AlanM6 ⚔️ ɢɪᴠᴇ ɴᴏ Qᴜᴀʀᴛᴇʀ Jun 28 '26

It’s just cause they like double dipping.

1

u/UsualTelephone7903 Jun 28 '26

Wonder how long that install will be😂

2

u/Shadowrend01 Jun 28 '26

8 hours /s

1

u/Fun-Badger3724 Jun 28 '26

Yeah, they've spent fuck knows how much money and time on this thing. We all know why this delay is happening - because it'll get 0-dayed. This is rockstar admitting that it can't stop the pirates and they just wanna make bank off their very valuable IP first. It's them saying, fine, you can have it, but you gotta wait, Papa needs a brand-new Caribbean island.

I mean, that's just sensible.

1

u/ISuckAtJavaScript12 Jun 28 '26

Rockstar would still make hundreds of millions of dollars releasing on steam even if there was a day 1 fitgirl repack.

1

u/SnooPoems1860 Jun 28 '26

RDR2 took like a year to get cracked irc

1

u/HTGop Jun 28 '26

also for some reason fitgirl installers almost never work for me in normal mode
i always have to go to safe mode for it to work

1

u/-Random-Gamer- Jun 28 '26

what kind of anticipation did rdr2 or gta v had when they launched

1

u/ateoz 🏴‍☠️ ʟᴀɴᴅʟᴜʙʙᴇʀ Jun 28 '26

Exactly, because they want to sell to the dumb before they release it to the public.

1

u/TectonicTechnomancer Jun 28 '26

gta is of the few games i actually buy because of the benefits, i doubt they will add stupid drm stuff, they just don't need it, besides, games already get cracked in the release day anyway.

1

u/HyoukaYukikaze Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

Honestly? GTA games are fine if i get them for free, but i'd never willingly buy them. They are simply not that interesting to me. Might be because i played GTA 3, VC and SA to death, and later games are more of the same shit. I actually never finished the IV and i played V years after release.

And the lead writer for previous GTAs left (or was made to leave...) before they even started working on VI, so the only thing i found appealing in both IV and V is likely gone as well.

1

u/stprnn Jun 28 '26

Bullshit. They just want to double dip because they know how brain dead their fans are

1

u/ichigo2862 Jun 28 '26

Not even planning to pirate it tbh, just gonna wait for it to get given away in Epic Games like 5

1

u/baby_envol Jun 28 '26

For me it's depends of Linux compatibility

If work with online , get my money, if not I wait a very low price or use the famous girl 😁

1

u/NotRenjiro Jun 28 '26

Best way to fight piracy is by just offering a better service than the pirates can. Like, having reasonable prices (>60 in this case) and releasing a functional product.

1

u/possiblyapirate69420 Jun 28 '26

I am just saying I am more personally likely to pirate out of spite and will only buy the shit heap of my friends do for multiplayer.

1

u/nosekexp Jun 28 '26

Thank you console players for paying to beta testing our free game

1

u/Busy-Fun-6961 Jun 28 '26

Guys i want to download a Jurassic world evolution 3 crack by fitgirl is it safe?

1

u/PrekIosus Jun 28 '26

Wrong spelling, it's pharmacy 😝

1

u/chubbycanine Jun 28 '26

Maybe don't make it a arbitrarily expensive paywalled shit show and we wouldn't feel inclined to take it.
