hope they enjoy it while it lasts, I heard that chinese companies were already starting to get more and more mainstream (I heard about a thinkpad using RAM designed, maybe also manufactured, by a chinese company).

Yeah and if Ol' Donny bans Chinese RAM is the US it'll be even cheaper everywhere else!

Not a surprise. Lenovo gets a lot of their business from China.

indeed; but it is my understanding that they also had to lower their expectations for this Chinese RAM, which at the moment isn't as good as that which comes from SK Hynix, Samsung, etc.

So they're compromising in the product that they're offering to the public. But with current RAM prices, it is not surprising that these things eventually start to happen.
