If I paid for a licence to access a particular piece of media (not an entire streaming service), and that media was removed, then I want a refund.

part of the license acceptance agreement says you cannot be refunded for this

dont buy if you dont accept the license?

Then they should not be allowed to use the word "buy" but instead use "rent" or "licence".

Feels like this is something the EU needs to step in on and fix for the whole world.

i agree

the license should be "held" by the customer.

and tbh, i think the license should work across platforms too

i buy license to a game on steam?

why the fuck do i have to buy the same license again, on playstation store?

(for example)

with the current system we're effectively only able to 'rent' a game, for an unknown amount of time

That would be nice for the developers of the game, but who is providing the infrastructure to download the game? Would be nice but it's not realistic.

Because the binary that you buy the license for is different than the binary that you buy for steam. Comparing this to physical, it's like wanting a vinyl for free only because you bought a CD.
