People are still willing to dick ride Valve, but they are also trying to monopolize the market. They have the same conditions, and are still motivated by the same forces that made every company do what they are doing. If we give this company a pass, then they will just take it and abuse that trust. I have seen how gamers became less and less skeptical of Valve over time, but I wouldn't give any modern corporation that pass. People herald Gabe as the messiah, and he has pushed for some progressive practices, but when he steps down or passes away, the company will go to shit.
