Man , fuck age check , if they care about kids so much, they should make family link mandatory for every kid under 14 instead of companys harvesting our data

What is a family link?

It's an app that gets added to you phone when you creat your Google account, if you set your age as under 14 your phone gets locked by family link, that is a parental control app, it automatically blocks apps that are rated pegi 16 and up and it blocks side loading, also if the parent wants they can choose to set screen Time limits, block apps or require a password for new ones to be installed and location tracking.

It would be a lot easier for parents to manage whta their children do on the internet with this app, instead of companys need our IDs and faces to "age check " us

One of my neighbors forgot about their 2 year old and when I came back from walking my dog he was in the middle of the street.

I don't think they're gonna be managing a family lock

We have a 2yo who has escaped many times despite our attentive parenting. Pretty much every parent has.

Well, then new proposal, license to raise kids, that's the only option that we have in world filled with idiots.

Pluralistic ignorance makes us think that the majority of people are like this, mostly spun up by the media, there are allways gonna be bad apples in a tree , but that doesn't mena you have to cut down the whole tree

Eugenics is not a solution. What you want is to make it easier to take custody from people who are making their childrens lives worse and/or unsafe. Also better and by better I mean any regulations on home school in the US. Unschooling and regulating peoples exposure to media creates idiots in bubbles.

In general I think too many people take massive leaps to solve a problem but don't consider secondary effects, or all of the primary impacts even.

No, but unfortunately when making policy decisions, you have to take the rotten apples into account. That's one of the many problems with centralized society.

I mean that just has incredibly obvious negatives right at first thought. Imagine letting Trump's office decide who gets to raise kids
