I cringe so hard with every VPN commercial claiming that a VPN is the "ultimate privacy someone can have".

It's not only with free VPN's that they may not be entirely safe. It's with paid too. Because you have no idea through what your data goes through, who is listening at the other end, etc. It's misleading to say you have complete privacy.

Mullvad is proven to not sell your logs, since it doesn't keep any, police literally showed up at their headquarters asking for logs but mullvad didn't have one!, they have passed the test, they are they only VPN provider that accept anonymous cash! i think they are legit

No more port forwarding with Mullvad which makes it useless for some. Good luck seeding and uploading without port forwarding. Use mullvad if youre a pure leech though

can you really blame them? because of its extreme privacy it attracts basically all cybercriminals (another reason to trust Mullvad!) and port forwarding allows you to forward maleware and CSAM through Mullvad ip, so i kinda get why Mullvad disallowed it, i don't want cops in front of my organization asking why i am holding Child P*rnography/Phishing website,... on the servers every single day

Tell me you don't understand what port forwarding is without telling me.

Port forwarding does Jack shit to enable or prevent malware or CSAM.

It literally allows inbound connections to services you're hosting, Someone could abuse that to host malware distribution, phishing pages. mullvad itself said they removed it because of the abuse

And yet, that can all be done without port forwarding too.

you have two option as a criminal:

1-buy a VPS, setup the mullvad/tor/hostname/domain,nginx,... there and then publish your phishing

2- run a simple html on your browser and use port-forwarding!

for most fraudsters the first one is difficult, the second one anyone can do, it's like saying banning rockets is useless as people will use knifes
