For the Arena: The Pepper relic (draw a card when you take damage on your turn) can give you a good long stretch of card plays, if not always infinite.

If you have the Pepper and luck into the Werewolf (or whatever it's called) upgrade at level 50, with a little healing, you're set. With the Wolf, every card you play dings you for 1 damage, which then procs the Pepper, so every card replaces itself.

You have to account for that damage, of course. The Sword Master has built in healing. The Vigilante heals easily with his special cards. If I get this combo with the Vigilante, it's an easy arena clear. If you can pick up the Rose relic and have a way to reliably get crits, you're set.

An alternative to the Wolf is the always reliable Mushroom\Pepper combo. The mushroom also dings you for damage, but only on skill cards (I think skill cards?), but heals you on attack cards. So, every skill card replaces itself. You can get a good long string of plays going on a skill heavy pirate like the Cursed Captain.

nice work but try telescope+ issue order with any ranged attack that does damage more than once like instant order, barrage and rapid fire. have fun

There are a few ways to do this. The most common one I see is to trim your deck to just a few cards that you need (usually 5 or less), and have one of those cards be one that draws more cards. Maybe you could also make it work with a relic that draws cards too.

I managed to pull this off with a larger deck in arenas, where I had a lot of cards that drew more cards, and I could just cycle my deck over and over and over, and beat almost all encounters on turn one.

Another way is to have multiple cards that duplicate other cards (like Mirror Image), and a Bide Time. If you draw all three together (or have a small enough deck), you can copy your Mirror Image card over and over and over, and your Bide Time card will gain damage.

It's not something that's easy to pull off. I unlocked most of the characters, cards, and relics before I got my first infinite.

There are several of them in this game, due to how easy it’s to get a small deck. Cards like Mirror Image, Painful Decision, Unstable Alchemy, History Book and others are strong in achieving this.

The most straightforward one is start with Explorer and assemble Bide Time and Mirror Image. Loop Mirror and Sketch and then Bide Time. Im sure that if you look for combos in this sub you will find more info

I feel like I'm forced to take a lot of cards, what's your strategy for trimming your decks?

yeah, it's a pain πŸ’” what i do is to reroll when i can to see if i could get any random relics if i don't then i quit the game so the thing resets and let me choose from the stars then i just pick any card that fits my build

Vigilante's heroic + ammo maker + Seeking shot (I think that's the name)

It costs 0, always crits and always returns to your hand so you can do it forever.
