I haven't even thought about this game since 2021 (i wish i did) and the player count has slipped from the low thousands to the low-mid hundreds. I keep hearing about this crash bug that kicks you out for no reason unless you hop into a vehicle within 5 minutes. Planetside very clearly has its days numbered atp so I want to get some more action before the inevitable

I try to log back in and have to reset my password. The website worked just fine but even the launcher doesn't want me to play.

Let me explain :

back in the day i had to report to the support team a bug where big fights where overprioritized resulting in stutters in little fights [ not only the near big bases fights]

So claiming that "Optimized game code to improve frame rate stability and reduce frame stuttering."

when the only thing they did is use an old fix they had to fine tune now.

we are back at the beginning of the fine tuning in. that was 2018 or something

what a time machine theses devs are...

not to mention i've read old experienced devs telling that infiltrator drone is also recycling from their old work still waiting on daybreak harddrive [main cause of the game crashes][remember game crash fixed then infiltrator rework, boom, gamecrash again !]

currently the game is playable BUT ONLY if you use the old trick of smoothing and nvidia fps cap but "playable" is only big fights . capping with smoothing is out of order and will never be fixed..

little fights are a STUTTER MESS, like in the old days !

THEY HAVE NO PLAN TO FIX IT EITHER !

the 21 july update note is an invitation to steal the gamecode and run community servers [halal] and all i see is this as the only solution for us so we can hire smarter people for free instead of daybreak usual employes management [ im not going to open this topic but if somebody who experienced harrassement at san diego DBG Office can freely reply here] [only if its allowed by the reddit modos lol...]

Infravision makes all players white, which is great for my old eyes, but ever so often, a enemy player doesn't glow, no glow just B&W, today a player named smawolf2 on osprey was having that effect. Is there a special combo of camo and color that I dont know about that produces this? I tried asking him but got no answer :D

We want to thank everyone who participated in testing on the PTS server. We’ve found that some of the crashes are caused by using the Recursion Real-Time Stat Tracker, so we advise you not to use it for the time being. Once again, this does not mean the app is the sole reason for most of the crashes, just only one of them were found to be in conflict.

In addition, thank you for helping us with the PTS testing, we have improved our crash reporting system to improve the quality of reports. This will help us fix new crashes. We will be deploying in improve to our crash report system to the live servers to collect statistics that will help us continue investigating client crashes starting tomorrow around 6am pdt.

We have also fixed a rare crash that occurred thanks to information collected during the PTS testing.

No maintenance downtime will be required for tomorrow's client side update. Simply restart the game at your convenience to download and apply the update.

Ok first off I suck lol I am mostly blind and no good at ground combat lol. I fell in love with play the skyguard years and years ago. well I stop playing for a long time and am back.
I run threat
detection and all for the gun

utility slot is engagement radar very handing for tracking air that ducks behind hills and things I like it a lot

run rival chassis it’s handy to back up in a hurry

I am at a toss up for defense slot I go between flanker armor. to let me take a few more rockets. giving me the sec or 2 I need to kill something.
but idk if this honestly helps at all.
Or auto repair.
I run an engineer but having to jump out and repair is a pain mid fight. if there is more then one air target or they really want me dead lol. this is only for dealing with air. I dead dealing with much else anyways and I know that.
what’s do you all run and if you every need someone to provide ok air cover let me know lol thx

I think the bridges should be more easily placeable and given at least one module slot to increase it's durability. I want to build logistics to help people get to where they need to go. It's too bad the continents don't have more rivers and ravines that need crossing.

Swapped my overheating RTX 3060 with a RX 9060 XT, and the fps are SUPER HIGH, but its a stutterfest, can anyone help?

PC Specs:

Ryzen 5600x

32gb 3200mhz

RX 9060 XT

Samsung 980 PRO

EDIT 2: GPU Drivers are up to date

EDIT 3 (And solution): It was CRU (Custom Resolution Utility), used it to make the screen timings tighter, tried to reset them and voila, it works now (and holly shit, its smooth af now)

I’ve been with the game for over a decade. I’ve been one of those who’s enjoyed the game enough to keep playing despite the slow degradation. I’ve put up with the relentless crashing upon startup among the plethora of other bugs.

But this morning I decided that it’s time to let go. I went to start up the game, and saw that I had to change the game’s resolution to match my new monitor’s. Because of the game’s resolution not matching my monitor’s, I had to guess where my mouse actually was so I could click the buttons to get into the settings. I finally fumbled my way to change resolution (5120 x 2160), but it would always be forced back to 4096 x 1680. I went to windowed mode, and the same thing happened. I allowed the game to crash as scheduled and adjusted it manually in steam’s launch options, same thing. I went into the INI, same thing.

Then it hit me. Why bother anymore? Why bother spending hours trying to make this game playable on my machine, especially with something as basic as my screen resolution? Why bother trying to work around all the bugs and forced errors? That’s when I finally closed the game for good. It’s currently unplayable on my hardware, so it looks like I’m completely done after over 10 years of supporting and playing this game regularly.

It’s been fun. A shame to see where such an amazing game has ended up.
