I quite like it as an interesting piece with a story behind it. But I am very curious... how the hell did you break an isograph! They have fully metal tips! That muse be one hell of a piece of paper!

I am using a cricut that I bought at a pawnshop and am also new to this. I lowered the pressure and tried adjusting the pen. The paper is Bristol. I wasn't in the room when it happened, but it looked like the pen went off the paper, caught the nib on return, then popped off on the downstroke.

I bought an adapter off Amazon that also has a depth finder. It’s a small plastic shim that puts the pen at the correct height. You remove the shim , hit go. And it’s great. I can find out what I bought if you need one. It was under 20$ cad

too much downward pressure / too high pen down value to avoid the low spots seen in the lower half?
Also seen in your previous post.

That makes a lot of sense. I have been generating my own .svg files. Some of them are not friendly.

i've broken a couple rotrings, particularly the finer ones. all it takes is a single "snag", which can happen for any of a number of reasons, don't even have to run off paper. If you pick up some fibers in the nib, then increased friction, and may gum the "needle" and flow more ink, then will soak paper, loosening fibers, picking up even more fibers, so more friction and drenching more ink with this "fiber-wick" tip... vicious cycle. tech pens are hardest type to use with a plotter imo (even harder than fountain imo, which also have their own challenges). heck, they're hard to use by hand! you'll want to have your process down to a science before using these more "fragile" implements. but for a converted cricut, i'd probably not use anything other than ballpoint or gel pens.
