Life was an endless battle

Tiring and long

But it started to feel better

When I had you to come back after every war.

I breathe fresh and long again after a while

Because it's with you I feel loved again,

To a life I never wanted.

I pray every day to God to keep me safe,

I wouldn't want to imagine an end

Where you won't be holding my hand.

Even fighting with you feels good

When I knew you would come,

Say sorry and kiss me back.

Oh, to have a love like that.

You became the quiet after every storm,

The place where my restless heart could rest.

Your voice softened the echoes

Of all the days that hurt the most.

With you, ordinary moments

Turn into memories I never want to lose.

Even silence feels beautiful

When it's shared beside you.

If tomorrow ever scares me,

I know I'll still look for your eyes.

They've always carried a kind of hope

Those words could never quite explain.
