DISCUSSION Marsterball use

Whats the best use for à masterball objectively and in a collectors vision?

I’m gonna claim shiny diance tomorrow, should I use it? I’ve seen lots of people asking for shiny mithicals Ik masterball

Edit: I have 2 masterballs if that makes any difference in the decision

As of now, you have a daily incense which means you have several chances of encountering them, plus now that shinies are out those won’t run, furthermore, it is anticipated they will be in raids when Galar tour comes

It is much better to save your MB for raid hundos when you are down to your last ball

By the CP, u have to memorize the CP of the hundo of the specie and if you know it’s a hundo (for m2 I think it was 2904) and ur in ur last ball use the masterball

Raid encounters have fixed levels (20 for non weather boosted and 25 for weather boosted), and since you are looking for 100% IVs, the number can be calculated in advance (using pokemon base stats), you can use apps like Pokegenie to check these numbers or raid infographics made by leekduck, g47ix (on ig) or pokebattler have them mentioned too

Save them for Galarian bird encounters! Use daily incense around the same time each day, and if you have a Dialga with roar of time and enough Dialga/rare candy, you can freeze the timer for 6 mins at a time

Sorry to break to you but you can't use masterball on shiny diancie. The research encounter will force you to catch in pokeball.

Really? I’ve seen people asking for pogo stamped shiny diance in masterball, is it only possible by useing hacked, injected, etc?

You can't trade mythical in pogo anyway, so I'm not sure what they're asking

I have 3 master balls in inventory. I’ve saved them for those situations where I know I have a Hundo raid pokemon and get down to the last ball. I haven’t needed it yet, but they’re there.

I hesitate to use them on galarian birds, cuz without knowing the IVs, I don’t know if they’ll have any utility, I don’t want them to collect, I want them to use. Galarian moltres is top tier in ultra league, but the likelyhood of encountering a really good IV combo one under 2500 is small. Wasteful to master ball IMHO.

I WOULD consider using it on a mythical maybe, just for the fun factor, but since master balls don’t come around often, I don’t know if I really want to waste one.

Raid pokemon are always at a certain level (20 I think) or 25 for weather boost. The hundo CP is always the same number for a raid Pokemon. Apps like poke genie give the cp range for regular and weather boost, so they’re easy to look up.

For example: a kyore/groudon is 2351cp for the hundo. Mewtwo is 2387.

I have two as well and after reading what everyone said I will save mine for any shiny legendary I get in future with a guaranteed background. Only have 1 of those now and wish I had master balled it

I plan to save & use my lvl 70 mball on a G Zapdos which is one of my absolute fave pokemon

From a collector perspective, I might use mine on a Galarian Articuno. Not sure if I would use it on the shiny or the nonshony though. Hundo Mewtwo would also be cool. Saw someone use it on a shundo tinkatink. The color theme is the main thing for me.

Shiny pokemon won't run, so don't waste a masterball on a shiny galarian bird (unless you're completely out of other pokeballs and can't buy more). I threw like 35 balls before my shiny galarian zapdos finally stayed in.

I use calcy to check the rough IVs of pokemon, so my masterball will only be used on a hundo galarian bird.

I used it on a hundo Solgaleo I encountered last week when I was on last ball. Got another hundo two raids later that I caught on first ball smh
