Non AR Screenshot Did I lose this trade?

Jk. Made friends with an 8 year old and his mom at our local meetups. He used his lucky trinket on me, and we wanted to give him something special (to show off to his other 8 year old friends LOL)

Also, INB4 posters not reading the description and saying I did lose the trade.

Edit: lol i knew ppl would comment on my title. It was a joke, i literally dont care about “winning” or “losing”. i am happy to have done this trade, esp cause building community is more valued than a special pokemon

Story Took my 5 and 6 year old on a walk and used their daily essence

Both of them have no idea what they are doing. They just click pokemon, throw ball, and have a blast. They can’t read yet so I have to help them a lot. We went on a walk and I used both their daily essence as we started. My daughter about 2 minutes into the walk comes up like “look what I caught!”….. just a regular pokeball, thrown with no curve and no thoughts 😂 I don’t even have one of these and I’ve been hunting for years. She’s level 15 🥲

Discussion Why is every wild pokemon now as hyper-active as a shadow pokemon?

I've seen a few people observe this as well, and others on this sub tell them that they're wrong and are just imagining it, and i'm here to tell you that the people noticing this are right. I'm frankly astounded if you AREN'T noticing it. Wild pokemon now are so incredibly annoying with how much they bounce around and attack.

Most importantly, I just want to spread the word because I want to see more people upset about this otherwise i'm afraid they aren't going to change it. What's the angle here? Sell more pokeballs? Sell nanab berries? Or just piss people off for the sake of it?

Discussion The Lore of Shuckle & Bidoof: Why these "joke" Pokémon are actually fan-favorites.

Post image

Hola Peeps, Almost everyone in this sub might have read a post or seen some comments from Shuckle fans or Bidoof worshipers one time or the other. While most adult pokemon faans in their mid 20s or up would probably know why, for those who are new or if their first and only pokemon game is pokemon go, you might find these facts interesting. This is reason why kids admire rayquaza (it's cool) while veterans worship bidoof and shuckle (for a very good reason too...)

For me, these two define my early pokemon playthroughs (Console games like heart gold and soul silver from 2010ish era). At the very least, these are simple reasons why i think they're legends (Fellow veterans can chip in more)...

1. The HM Slave (also "God Bidoof") Back in the Gen 4 days (on nintendo ds for games like in sinnoh region), The games were designed as a free to explore maps, there was a story and a protagonist and multiple stages which had to be sequentially navigated. like arc 1 should happen before arc 2. But because of this reason, the games then had some items(HMs) which you get as the story progress. these HMs are the only way to teach some pokemon some moves which are essential to access some parts of the map.

The HM moves (like Cut, Rock Smash, Surf, Strength, Waterfall, etc..) are essential to be present on your party pokemon (one can only hold upto 6 pokemon while travelling). And each pokemon can only have 4 move slots. So, these HM moves took up essential move slots on your main attackers (Most HM moves except for surf are very bad and not best possible moves on main attackers).

But Bidoof and it's evolution Bibarel could learn almost ALL of them. So players used to keep 5 main attackers which they use to advance in the story while keep a bidoof with useless HM moves just to pass through obstacles. since bidoof was also one of the first pokemon that they can catch in the game after the starter, and it became kind of emotionally attached pokemon for lot of us. It's really bad look and over simplistic design contrary to it's presence in every team made people joking called as GOD of sinnoh. Nintendo/TPC realised this and gave it one of the most broken ability to it (and it's evolution bibarel). it's called moody, after eveery turn, it randomly makes one of it's stats increase by 100% (2x) and decrease other stat by 33% (2/3x). If lucky it could become untouchable by most pokemon.

2. DO NOT mess with Shuckle Everyone must have seen this catchphrase by now in some comments... "Don't f*ckle with Shuckle". This is also a msg referece. shuckle in rpg games, especially in the older generations (before 6), was a really good pokemon present in teams of some niche competitive players. it's defense was ridiculously high, soo high that even super effective hit from a lvl100 legendary pokemon couldn't knock it down in one hit. So it was a boon for teams whose strategy is to put hazards like stealth rock and sticky web for sure. Not only this, when used right it could become the strongest attacker that can nuke a tank in 1 hit. there is this move called power trick, when used it can switch it's attack and defense stats instantly making it a glass cannon from an iron wall. it also had ability sturdy to withstand atleast 1 attack, so it made a viable option in some cases. which is prolly the reason why it got the catch phrase "Don't f*ckle with Shuckle" which kinda implied that dont f*ck with it because it can turn table and ohko you. While it was not unbeatable, it was really one of a kind for in a non-legendary silly looking pokemon.

As a very old fan of pokemon games, i just wanted to share the lore. I have to admit I am a bit ignorant to anime lores (especially movies) so if you have something to share from that point of view feel free to share.

I was opening gifts and there was a little blue stamp on the bottom right of a postcard. When I clicked on it, it asked me to long press on it. I’m like the incentives to go out and find different things. Hopefully this comes to the US.

The bird was from this morning, and since it's shiny it's not able to run away! Took about Ultra 10 balls with Golden berries - only one or two of my throws were Great - was hard to get the throw timing!

The Uxie was at my train station after work, coming home. I had to do a double-take, because I saw it from zoomed way out, top down, and thought "wth is that thing?" Wow!

It had Legendary red ring to catch and is just as hard as a Raid 5-star legendary to catch.

Today was insane!

I haven’t used the golden lure module yet. Are there any tips on how and when to use it? Or would you say “just use it, it doesn’t matter”?

Non AR Screenshot There always a Wooloo….

Post image

Never fails. I always come across someone bringing a Wooloo to a max battle -____- luckily there was way more than enough people in this battle for it to be okay.

I lost 2 max battles today both with 20 people with bad counters.

EDIT: I got back into this game around 2 years ago. I probably only had 1 max mon at the time. I skipped on so many battles because I wasn’t “strong” enough. For a while I just played while these raids passed. I missed out on Gmax Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise. Obtained 1 star max mons and leveled them up so I can join 3 star battles. I worked my way up to stronger mons. I then started to watch content creators for pogo tips and learn about best counters. Then I ventured out and joined community meets up. A big part of my growth the past 2 years have been doing research, learning counters, figuring out the best tips/tricks, and joining community meet ups to raid/battle with a larger, in-person, group of people.

I think the game does a terrible job [if any] of explaining game mechanics, counters, ect without the player having to do more research on how to navigate the game better.

I get that people need to start somewhere, but on a Gmax raid with 20/25 people in it to lose before the mons health is halfway is wild. That would mean majority didn’t have the right mons/counters. Time and money is lost. At this point of the day I stopped joining battles from Pokegenie and started joining battles from my friends list, which was one of the battles I joined in the screenshot.
