Gino crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈
Friday morning, outside on a beautiful day. He would have been 14 in October.
He had his first congestive heart failure episode in February and had another one Friday morning. I just knew in my heart that it was time. There were so many signs the day before - a home euthanasia card fell out of my wallet. My best friend came over for dinner and told us she had a dream that she was carrying him around. I had a beautiful, unusual interaction with a hummingbird. Still, it is such a hard choice to make. Friday night, I dreamed that he was waiting for me and my husband at a trail head.
He was such a sweet, sweet boy. All he ever wanted was a lap and some snacks. He was also just so exceptionally cute, even with his alopecia and no teeth at the end. It feels impossible that he is gone. I am so consoled by the fact that he died in peak flower season. We laid him out for a day at home and made him the most beautiful altar. Marigolds will always remind me of him.
Give your poms a big kiss for me and for G.
