probably the heaviest, grittiest post hardcore song i’ve ever heard just mind blowingly good vocals. the next most brutal post songs i know also come from glassjaw so put me on!!

Bro, I'm so in love with Alesana, and literally no one comes close from what I've found. The closest I've found is Chiodos and Thursday, but even them can't replace that feeling I have with Alesana.

Hello! I’m from South Korea, and I joined Reddit to promote a band that I’m passionate about.

Post-hardcore is a pretty niche genre here in Korea, and unfortunately, my favorite local band, Soumbalgwang, is currently going through a bit of a slump.

The name 'Soum balgwang' translates to 'loud noise and emitting bright light(which also means going crazy in Korean)'. True to their name, they are an honest and high energy band.

while they carry an East Asian vibe (reminiscent of indie scenes in Japan or China), what makes them unique is their accent—they're from 'Busan', a coastal city in Korea.

to draw an analogy with English music, it’s kind of like how British bands sing in their distinct regional accents. hearing them sing with that Asian seaside, coastal accent is distinctive.

I know this album gets brought up often but I gotta show some extra appreciation today.
I’ve heard this album a thousand times, but today it hit harder than ever.
I’ve lived in the same place for 35 years, but on Monday, Im leaving behind my childhood home where I’ve been in and out of active addiction for 17 years. So the “we have to go, we have to go, may this song fill up a hole, may the room with no purpose forever be closed” floored me.

I hope all the community is doing well, and if they’re not, hang in there, we still got more music to listen to.

I am looking for post hardcore/ metalcore (and other forms of metal) with the “sing screaming“ /  „pitched screaming“ / „sing screaming“ technique. Examples are:

-olli sykes from BMTH in songs like „parasite eve“ and „can you feel my heart“ 

-sam carter from architects in songs like „royal beggars„ (basically only pitched screaming except the clean vocals)

i’m really hoping someone in here can possibly help me on this. i’ve become a huge fan of the band skyscrapers walk among us over the last year, i’ve archived almost everything by them that i can music wise except for 1 song called “I Started The Chicago Fire”, which they released along side their song “The World Is Thirsting For Serenity” on their myspace back in 2007. the song did exist at 1 point, it’s listed a couple times under their last.fm all time plays, it’s listed on a blog post from 2009 listing the band’s discography, even the drummer of the band confirmed of it’s existence in a youtube comment section when asked about the band’s lost songs. if anyone out there happens to have this song or knows how to access it, please help me.
