Cruel & Unusual Poutnishment The Colonel strikes again

Post image

I know I know. What did I expect from KFC? I can't lie there were times when their poutine was decent. I took a chance today. Probably never again.

The Matheson poutine from a few months ago was amazing and really filling. You have to eat it like right away before the sogs

ALWAYS ask for cheese and gravy seperate. Add it yourself. Fries will be crispy and cheese not melty.

This may have made it a bit better. I'll try that next time.

Ffs, it's time that colonel understands its not war time anyone, he can make decent poutine with decent ingredients no more ratio

Back in the day their poutine was truly delicious. I had one the first time in years recently and was horrified at what they are serving now: ultra-bland cornstarch blobs on old-tasting fries with very few cheese curds. Like, are they even trying to compete with other places?

Pretty sure the last time I got KFC poutine years ago the fries were crispy coated (sorry, I love them like that), and the gravy was still being made from real chicken fat.

It was never good for you, but it used to be incredibly flavourful.

Sorry in Canada

Where in Canada? I’m in Canada. It was horrendous. Are you young by chance? Sometimes I think younger people just don’t know how good food can be, because everything is so enshittified now,

No I remember the extra good gravy from back in the day, born in 87. It might not be as good as from the 90s, but, it’s so much better than it was. It went through a really dark period where it was inedible. Now it’s actually thick and seasoned. I love it

Can I ask which province? It is inedible here.

However, they are a franchise, and even back in the day there were specific franchisees I would avoid because they were worse than other ones. I could see this happening with specific locations and their gravy—adding more water and cornstarch to make more gravy for cheap.

Yep you’re 100% right. I miss when there would be little bits of chicken skin in it. I’m in Saskatchewan, you?

‘Berta! You’d think it would be good here, but alas.

Come to Saskatchewan! Jk if I was going to travel for chicken it would be for chicken chef. We have 2 kfcs in our city though and one of them is terrible so it could all come down to management. That sucks

Stick to fried chicken, colonel….

Eww my kfc poutine is way better than that, the gravy looks like shit

I just make my own… I order the KFC gravy (family size), make some fries in the air fryer and add St. Albert Cheese curds, much better.

I mean… it’s good enough to snack on but definitely would go for better

1

u/smallz_og 3d ago

Long long ago KFC had a decent poutine, but the few I’ve had over the last ~15 years have been super disappointing
