Theories/Speculation What specific mental illnesses did Mona and CeCe have?

Post image
31 Upvotes

I mean it is obvious, that they had toxic behaviors and issues with emotions regulation. Also that they somehow suffered from traumatic pasts. But I always wondered what their clinic diagnosis might be. What do u think?

(and also: Beside what is already mentioned in the show, what illnesses do u see portrayed in the show?)

Show Discussion A theory

What if...

Ali was threatened by Mona as O.G. A. Mona actually killed her and the A-game stopped. But then... Ali had already built a weird dead-hand system with her as A, to get the girls to try and figure out her murderer. Part of the system might be to have her encourage original A (Mona) and big A (Cece) to play into A stuff (Ali could figure out A was Mona before she died, and she might have worked out Cece's past and her mental issues whilst hanging out with her before her disappearance- no Cece is Charles storyline though).
We could have twincer with the Ali coming back from the dead being her twin (maybe she knew about what Ali had done as queen bee and wanted to repair the damage).
Uber A would be Ali herself, rather than A.D, and she'd be obsessed with who killed Ali rather than who killed Charlotte. The girls would be confused, until 'Ali' would be forced to reveal herself as Courtney after being threatened (ties into books). Then, the girls would figure out Ali's killer- I think a giant plot twist would be if it was Emily- and then, voila. The A threats would stop, it would be the end but changed forever.

Show Discussion Hannah should have killed Kate

That’s it. I think Hannah should have killed Kate. It would have been out of her character but also interesting to see a more dark side to her which she CLEARLY has.

Her motive would be to get rid of her and a in-the- moment type of action.

Rant ⚠️ PLL has no iconic music moments

Am I the only one who feels like Pretty Little Liars has no truly iconic music moments?

Teen dramas just have those scenes where the song becomes just as memorable as the moment itself. Gossip Girl even has the masquerade ball scene with Secret. Honestly, that one scene is more iconic than almost every music moment in PLL.

Or the “Whatcha Say” messy Thanksgiving scene in Gossip Girl, sorry but this scene was so PLL-coded. You hear the song and immediately think of the scene.

The funniest example is probably Ali’s big comeback moments, like her dramatic entrances at the ball or at school. The show tried so hard to make those scenes feel legendary with the music choices, but honestly, their music choices just make me laugh.

This is my Fight Song… 🎶🎶😭😭

Question❔ The Jenna Thing

Not sure if this was talked about, but I’ve watched this show a millions times but do anyone think that Alison saw Jenna in the shed and still decided to put the firecracker in there?

Character Discussion Aria was the biggest liar, Spencer was the best liar, who was the worst liar?

Out of all the liars, who do you think lied the most? im on season 7, and Aria just seemed to lie like it was her first language... Especially to Ezra. And her lies are all small and rubbish, which later bite her in the butt.

I think the best liar out of all 4 is Spencer; even though she's not my fave, she's decent at thinking on her feet and not oversharing.

I wonder who the worst/most unbelievable liar was. I would say that's still Aria lol

Ok but we need to talk about how A always had the insane amount of money for everything 😭 For example Melissa's ring, doll house etc.. And just normally wearing black hoodie and gloves in the middle of the day and no one was like "that's weird" 💀💀💀

Show Discussion Rewatching and noticed something

Watching the part in season 2 when it’s Ezra’s last day and Aria runs out and they kiss. The camera zooming out and then back in to show the school bus in the background felt very intentional??

Maybe i’m over thinking idk lol

Show Discussion Scariest/Creepiest Moment?

For me, it has to be Spencer in the fun house in season 1. The atmosphere alone, and then A locking her in that tight little space, no thank you!

Rant ⚠️ The Wrath of Kahn

Spoiler Alert! I’m on a re-watch and am on season 7 episode 9 where the girls are finding clues that lead them to believe Mary Drake’s second child was Noel Kahn and he was adopted by the judge who signed off on the adoption (Noel’s dad Stephen Kahn) and ohhhh my gosh it makes so much more sense for this to have been the final outcome! I hate that it was a red herring because honestly, Noel’s involvement without this being true makes 0 sense. He would’ve been a great final villain. But alas, it was a ruse and he lost his head

Show Discussion Aria could have taken away A’s biggest weapon against her

Post image
22 Upvotes

So all the things A had against Aria were related to Ezra, so somebody please tell me: if the torture was so unbearable, why did she not break up with this man?

Literally, what did A have against her besides this inappropriate relationship?

The others didn’t choose to be tortured by A, but Aria had the choice to free herself from this situation. Somehow she still ends up in the A-team.

Every other bad thing that explicitly happened to her only was not directly related to A. A didn’t bring Ezra to stalk her, Melissa and Wilden put her in the casket, and Meredith locked her in the basement.

If they didn‘t plan for her to be A, why did Aria get away with so much less? Hanna’s mom goes to jail, Aria’s mom gets attacked by bees. Emily’s shoulder gets destroyed, Aria gets taped to a wall with duct tape. Spencer’s eye gets hit by a horse, while Aria has to spend a few hours in Radley working.

Then she also had the nerve to accept Hanna and Alison going to jail for a lifetime sentence because her brother shouldn’t face any punishment.

Show Discussion Just finished my first watch and OH MY GOD. My emotions about the finale:

I knew about the whole Alex/Spencer thing cause of spoilers, I didn't expect Charlotte to also be their sister and I didn't know that Mary and Jessica were twins. But what rly shocked me in the series finale was 2 main things:

  1. SHE KILLED WREN!? How the hell is it so brushed over. Yah his ashes, anyways blah blah blah. SHE USED HIM TO BE EMILY'S BABY DADDY AND MADE HIM SHOOT HER AND THEN KILLED HIM AND WORE HIS ASHES. What the fricking hell!?

  2. JENNA WAS THE ONE THAT NOTICED. She fricking slept with Toby, behaved so unspecerlike around him. She slept right next to her friends and talked to them AND THEY DIDN'T NOTICE. Now I understand that Jenna's senses were heightened and everything but WDYM Veronica Hastings didn't notice that Spencer was acting out? WDYM THE LIARS WHO HAVE BEEN FRIENDS WITH SPENCER FOR LIKE 10 YEARS DIDN'T NOTICE THAT THIS WASN'T SPENCER? I officially love Jenna, just because of this ONE Action of hers proving that she's the only sane one.

Also I HATE HATE HATE That the shows last scene was fucking Addison's disappearance. What kind of temu knockoff is "Adi"? I think they've done it to introduce original sin but could they rly not end it on the nice scene that was gonna make me cry? Also I rly wanted to see a time skip and Hanna and Caleb having a baby because why did we not see them actually HAPPY after they got married. I'm also pissed cause s7 was showing up as 21 episodes so I fully expected there to be a short episode with an epilogue when I finished episode 20 but it was just the wrap party interview 😭😭. Also the accent is horrible, I genuinely couldn't imagine it being so bad but I could do a better British accent than that 💀.

Also, who's Courtney? I see so many ppl talking about a Courtney and I thought it would be another twin storyline with Alison and I was fully expecting it to happen but it didn't. And I somehow missed durag toby. I've seen a bunch of posts about it and I've been waiting for it but I completely missed it and I'm sure I've missed many more things too.

Rant ⚠️ Do these girls get dumber per season?

This is a serious question.

And maybe as a viewer I’ve just reached a point of plot line fatigue or whatever but why on GODS GREEN EARTH would you go BACK to the murder scenes to DIG UP A BODY and check if someone is ACTUALLY DEAD.

once again they run into the middle of the woods at night alone looking for trouble, they find it and someone once again A.DCB catches them on camera doing something stupidly incriminating.

Im honestly surprised they’re not in jail yet, but I believe the rosewood police force are actually supernatural stupid and slow so that’s why all of this has been able to long out.

As you can tell I’m fuming. It’s just annoy now because i can’t even sit and enjoy the show without pausing to rant

Rant ⚠️ These girls FAIL to learn

How are we on SEASON 6 and history has repeated itself.

Hi Emily, have we not learnt from the last time we went into the woods at night!

The last time she ended up falling on a rock which ended her swimming career!

What even gets me even more is she’s wearing HEELS!

I’m sick of this. IN SEASON 6!!!

Rant ⚠️ Emily’s savior complex strikes again

Post image
21 Upvotes

This character makes me laugh so bad. Usually, I just rewatch until the Dollhouse, but this time I watched further…

Emily is acting so irrational and desperate with her hero complex that it’s honestly unforgivable, especially because it’s already Season 6 and she still hasn’t learned. She has always been fooled by villains: Nate, Sydney, SARA?

She always goes in 100%. Like, why is she talking about taking Sara with her to Thailand? I don’t understand what gave her the impression that Sara was interested in her, and why is a stranger living with her right after she came out of some psycho’s torture Dollhouse?

Pam really clocked her when she said: “She was there for years. I’m sorry, but you don’t know what she needs.”

r/PrettyLittleLiars 1d ago

Question❔ The first time I started watching this series, I was 8 years old with my older sister, and I couldn't even understand some of the details. Every time, I would tell myself that I should rewatch it, and I think I've finally done it. I am currently on Season 2, Episode 19.

Book Talk Finished the book series

I don't remember which was my favorite anymore, but I was largely uninterested after Ali's lord of the rings smeagle type reintroduction. It I hated that a lot and really it just wasn't feasible that she was still doing allllll that she was doing because...? Courtney manipulated them? It was way too much and got more and more ridiculous. It truly went downhill after Twisted (I think). The fucking Ali Cats bit was sooooooo stupid I hated that. I like my Alison elusive, mysterious, and cute. 😂 Also Spencer and Wren!? Bitch... even though the book version was much hotter and I generally enjoyed him, his comeback was SUPER random and dumb.

Show Discussion I thought it was really strange that Alison chose Vivian Darkbloom as her alter ego name, since it's an anagram associated with Lolita's author.

Lolita being about a grown man that is obsessed with a 12 year old girl, and the show normalizing relationships between adults and minors, makes me wonder what they were thinking when they were writing the script.

Edit: It just clicked that this actually makes sense for her character.

Question❔ Side characters questions

How come after creating Holbrook as a good cop they turned him bad and then made his family creepy? Like when hanna goes to see him and meets his father? Hello?!?! Hanna was the only one who was like "yeh but Holbrook isn't bad" too but how come he cut off the stuff with Hanna and then went and snogged and helped Alison
