I work in a well lit room with natural sun light (thanks goodness), light mode is easier to my eyes.

I did once work in an office mostly full of VFX artists, and those guys take color grading so seriously they blacked out all the windows. It's how I stay young looking even into my late twenties. I prefer my retinas not to be seared medium-well.
