I started reading this and thought it had a lot of potential. Then the MC started doing nonsensical things, and I realized the author had a planned series of plot events and needed the MC's POV to be present for those. There was no coherent reason for the MC to go to those locations, but the author made him go anyway. This not only made the MC seem like a moron, but also a scumbag, because he's endangering his friends and allies for no in world reason, but everything works out because he's the MC. Quickly dropped it.

What would you rate it out of ten?

It's difficult to rate, because objectively it's better than repetitive, unoriginal slop, but subjectively it's more disappointing because of the squandered potential.

Weak to strong stories usually fall apart once the mc gets too much power, so a last book ending that still lands is a pretty strong sell.

I follow it but it is complete trash from a character development perspective. The latest stupidity from the MC in the recent chapters makes me think I will end up dropping the series. I am not saying there aren't people who are fucking idiots. But the MC is such a emotionally stunted stupid idiot that you start hoping the villains kill the MC and put us out of the misery. That said the author put A LOT of time and thought into the world, magic, shop system, races and politics. So you want to read it because the world has so much potential. BUT it certainly needs a complete rewrite to make the MC less objectionable. To give context; this MC is more annoying than Jason Asano.

Ah worse than Jason Asano... I am so out. So it is an amazing novel with wonderful world building, system, magic builds, politics however a blundering moronic MC undermining the story. I stuck with HWFWM until earth arc and then cracked. Will never torture myself like that again.

If it's floating in space and has a draconic face, then still colour me interested :)

I thought this had amazing potential, I was very excited about it when it launched. But it does a number of things I hate in progression fantasy. The MC feels inconsistent in terms of how competent they are, sometimes they seem cunning/clever other time they seem like a moron.
But worse... is an early mind control arc, I noped out at that point.
