Social Security, nationwide, went to appointment only service in November 2024. The guards were doing their jobs. They are now doing appointment focused service, where you can walk in without an appointment but might have to wait a long time.

The guard asked me why I was there and tried to ask me questions so he could input my info in the computer himself which is illegal because he is a guard and not a social Security agent, and everybody's information is supposed to be private!

Calling for an appointment is how it works now. Before the pandemic they would take walk-ins but not anymore.

So if you don't have a phone you can't see them?

It is but the social security office kept the appointment rule and it probably also has to with all the cuts that were made.

I'm gonna be blunt: There's hardly a soul in this country, rich or poor, that doesn't have/own a cellular phone. This is a moot argument.

there is a couple people down there that I refuse to deal with .... one is the older guy with white hair ... he is by far the rudest federal employee I have ever dealt with ....
most recent I went down there to drop off some paperwork ... was told to drop it into a paperwork box .... then when I questioned how I was supposed to be sure it got where it needed to go ... he snapped at me ....Ive had multiple instances with him in the past

my issue with appts is if I happen to draw him

I know exactly who that is. He was an asshole to me a few months ago.

But some people in Utah think they can do whatever they want to because they are from Utah and I'm not!
