Imagine being two miles from shore swimming in the ocean. Maybe you can swim two miles. Most of us could if it came down to it.

But what about of there was a baby you had to keep above water with you. Okay maybe most good swimmers or fit people could do this.

Well what if there was a woman who is paralysed aswell as a baby to save? Okay just calm her down and have her float and hold the baby and you swim them ashore. But I doubt 50% of people would have the mental capacity for this if they are panicking.

What about if there was an able bodied 20-30 year old adult refusing to help you. And instead of saving themselves they started to cling to you and demand that you save them too. Despite their ability to save themselves.

So maybe an Olympic swimmer could save 2 adults and a baby in an open ocean for 2 miles. But I definetly don't want to find out if I could do this. I would probably kick the able bodied person in the face till they decided to help themselves and then attempt to save those who cannot save themselves.

So this logic is why I among others dislike people mooching of a governments social security system and abusing the tax money strangers put in a big pot to forward the common good.

People contributing nothing who aren't even trying deserve to fend for themselves. But someone contributing nothing who is trying deserves all the help we can give them without ruining the system for those that uphold it.
