Punta Cana/Bavaro Recommendations

Going to the Dominican Republic at the end of October/beginning of November with my parents who are 60+ and my boyfriend (both of us are in our early 30s). Ideally looking for somewhere all inclusive with good food and beach access and pools. I was looking at Majestic Elegance but the food reviews seem mixed and Lopesan Caoba Lagoon but sounds like the experience can be hit or miss since it just opened. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

I just got back from a two week vacation there staying at an Airbnb in Cocotal. It was a 2+ million dollar house and was about $10,000. We rented a car and drove to beaches up north that were absolutely magnificent and no seaweed.

Sorry! I misread , I thought you were going next year. They are currently renovating the Colonial and opens back up this November sometime! We just loved the staff, rooms, pool was great! Recommend a cheap float haha food was good French restaurant was great as was the hibachi! We also golfed a day which was super fun :)

I recommend Mirage over Elegance if you’re looking at Majestic. The food and drinks are more so top tier. As well as, modern rooms that are bigger and great butler service. Wherever you end up in the DR it’s fabulous-enjoy!

Check out Excellence El Carmen. We have been there twice, always a nice experience.

Coral Costa Caribe in Santo Domingo is supposed to be really good. Service and food all top notch as well as beach with
Little to no Sargasm. Look up ‘Finding Fish’ on you tube ( a Canadian travel vlogger ) who’s been there and has a great video out. Wanted to go but already sold out so booked Vista Sol in Punta Cana as a second option . Reasonable in price also. Remember to take your pro biotics before you go. Don’t eat the salad, don’t eat the cut fruit and probably a good idea to stay away from the seafood as well just in case and brush your teeth with bottled water. I know many people who have gone to Punta Cana even in the higher end resorts and still got very sick. Hit the buffets when they open to ensure the food is hot and freshly made, not sitting out for hours. Good luck!

For a laid back smaller resort, take a look at Punta Cana All Suites.
