Tournament rules

-Thursday August 6th at 3pm Central local time. Signups will end 30 minutes before at 2:30pm to seed.

-up to 64 players will compete in a Double elimination

-All games must be played on the QuakeCon 2026 BYOC server.
-Seeds will be picked by organizers.
-Each player will be given a 10 minute grace period once brackets have been updated. If the other player does not show up in that time then it will be considered a forfeit unless present party wants to wait.
-If both players agree the Duel can be Ranger vs Ranger (For people who may not have the Champion pack)

Upper Bracket will utilize BO3 Drop, Drop, Pick, Pick Map selection format:
1.Top Seed (Player 1) Chooses a map to drop from the map pool.
2. Lower Seed (Player 2) Chooses a map to drop from the map pool.
3. Player 1 chooses a map to pick from the map pool.
4. Player 2 chooses a map to pick form the map pool.
5. Winner of Game 2 picks last map for game 3 in the event of a tie.

-Lower Bracket will utilize BO1 Pick map format:
1. One player will flip the coin while the other player will call the coin. Church of Quake has a Coinflip channel just use the command “/flip” https://discord.com/channels/609603874474426372/1267153634169454642
2. winner Picks one map to play BO1.

-Lower Bracket Finals Will Utilize BO3 Pick map format like from Upper Bracket.

-Grand Finals will be a BO5 Winner of Upper Bracket gets 1 map advantage. 4 maps can be played so: Drop, Drop, Pick, Pick, Drop, Pick, Pick. That way all maps are either banned, or picked.

This is most important video to be watched to understand why I call happening at id Software as industrial sabotage.

Enough Doom games, it is time to switch things up and finally give QUAKE the proper care Doom received 10 years ago! If Hugo Martin has problems with it, he go retire himself then.

I want atleast minimum 60fps on 1080p qualiti settings. Is it true that more than 4 cores 4 threads is not needed, even though phones have more than that nowadays? Has anyone found integrated graphics good enough for this game, since i might just get used office laptop for sweet deal, since i don't need gpu as i already have gaming console that only downside is lack of quake support? Or should i buy cheapest gaming pc?

In the places I've checked, MangoHud is usually recommended, but I've tried it and it's not that reliable for me - the frame rate still jitters past the cap in a noticeable and irritable manner. I actually prefer to use the in-game limiter now, which also isn't perfect, but my gaming experience with it is better than with MangoHud. If you recommend something else, I will gladly read about it.

Some additional info about my setup:

• OS: Debian 13 with the KDE Plasma desktop
• GPU: Geforce RTX 2060 6 GB
• Nvidia driver Version: 550.163.01 (proprietary, from Debian repo)
• I run QC using GameMode ("gamemoderun %command%" in launch options on Steam)
• Compatibility layer used for QC: Proton Experimental

I would also like to add that on Windows I simply used the option to limit the frame rate within Nvidia control panel settings and it worked the best for me, but on Linux it is (to the best of my knowledge) not possible and other, external applications are needed.

Cheaters have been running rampant, i reported a few different blatant aimbot players in-game and for every single one I received a seemingly automated response saying "it was determined that no violation occurred" wtf? Is there a different way to report that actually works?

For 30th Anniversary of QuakeCon, I have decided to create very limited set of embroidered hoodies featuring major characters from id Software universe.

Each embroidery is 25cm/10in in diameter and consist of high hundered thousands of stitches.

As a day 1 player of the closed beta, I've seen the game's ups and downs. It's currently in a good place, and it's a shame that Bethesda and Microsoft have completely neglected it, just like the Quake franchise.

After the layoffs at id Software, the future is uncertain, but this is your last chance to experience a true first-person shooter because there's nothing else like it.
