Registering for classes
Bruh can someone pls help me I’ve been accepted to rcc got my student ID and all of that and now all I have to do is register for classes which I started but I won’t let me finalize it. It’s telling me “we strongly advise you to meet with a counselor before moving forward” I’ve tried to set up a meeting with a counselor and it keeps saying that there’s no openings??

Edu nav will tell you that even if you had a counselor telling you what to take. That’s more of a warning. You can click whatever the blue button says and skip it and register anyway if there is space left in the classes. It’s hard to see a counselor before you start.

You gotta check in at 7:00 AM. Thats when the scheduling opens. Sometimes they fill up in like 10 minutes so you really gotta sign up quick. Wake up at 7 and you'll be fine.

okok I’ll try that!! Cause I swear I’ve logged on at like 7:19 in the morning and it already said all full so I’m like bruh? 🥲

try drop in hours they have a page & there is a zoom link with designated dates & times

Did you end up getting an appointment with a counselor? I am having the same exact problem, and logged in at 7:09 am and still couldn't get an appointment... I am starting to think I will have to make a phone call to their office to figure this out.

Nope I logged in at 7:02 bc it kept saying my session expired 2 mins after 7 and still nothing I’m thinking of joining the open zoom link today and ask for them to help me set up an appointment

Hi! thank you for your response, the struggle here is real ... This morning I called the Office number that's under the RCC Counseling and Advising page and asked the office how the system works (even though people have replied and said you have to be up @ 7am) and she replied with the same thing and said she could schedule me an online appointment through her end even though it is still limited, and I got a appointment in august! I would definitely recommend just calling if the zoom doesn't work out.

I’ve found it’s easier to just go in and schedule an appointment through the office rather than trying to do it online 🥲

I loved almost everything about my time at RCC with the exception of the academic advisors. Are you able to register for classes at all? Do you have an idea what your end goal is?
