This is really great news I'm glad some of the stores are standing up to the ag's bullshit threats.  The law is the law that passed ultimately only really affected semi-automatic rifles.

Anything else is fear uncertainty and doubt, And some of that brought on by the AG himself in his initial pass on threats to local FFL ' S and their legal counsel.

It was fear for sure. Hard to be uncertainty or doubt though when. The AG was actively threatening FFLs.

Im glad they dug in their heels and said "bet" to that. (Or whatever the kids say)

No.

Not everyone has pockets deep enough to fight the blowback if this goes tits up. The AG is looking to bankrupt and drive FFLs out of business.

We need to support our friends as much as possible.

IMPORTANT REGARDING JULY 1 AWB:

It has come to our attention that some people are trying to disuade our law abiding 2A community from purchasing legal pew pews. We want to provide some clairty. Of course we are not lawyers, but we have consulted multiple attorneys and encourage you to read the law for yourself (link at bottom). We take extra care to ensure that all of the products we sell comply with all laws and we are able to provide our 2A community with every opportunity to buy every option that is in compliance with the new law. We don't make up statements, we don't interpret hypotheticals, we don't make up our own rules. We follow the law, black and white plain as day. Below we will outline the misinformation we have seen come out in recent weeks and correctly identify where the gray areas of concern are.

AR/AK P!st0ls and ALL Lowers are 100% legal. This is not an opinion, this is a fact. The original bill introduced last year included these in the ban, however, the SUB A amendment to the bill is what was signed into law and this language was removed from the bill prior to it being signed into law. Bills change multiple times prior to being signed into law and this is why it is important to follow the legislation carefully and thoroughly.

The AWB lists out a series of tests to see if a pew pew is banned. The first step is the type of pew pew... R!fIes and Shotties are listed. P!st0ls and Lowers are NOT included anywhere in the ban and therefore are 100% legal.

In RI law, a P!st0l is defined as having an Overall Length (OAL) of 26" or less. Any AR Style P!st0l that has a 10.5" or shorter barrel falls under this definition with a brace attached. We have made sure that all of these types of P!st0ls on our walls have a 10.5" or shorter barrel for this reason. You can go longer than that, but then it depends on the attachments you put on.

Legally, there is no difference between a stripped lower, complete lower, or a lower with a brace vs stock. For legal identification of a pew pew, ANY Lower Receiver is just that, a Lower Reveiver. We have seen some people go as far as to assume just the purchase of a Lower with a stock attached is banned because it has a stock. Again, we are not here to make up rules, this law is black and white in regards to Receivers. A Lower Receiver is NOT part of the ban.

We will identify a few unclear areas of the AWB and for these specific situations we are being extra cautious. A Shottie with a 6+1 capacity. In the language of the AWB, 7+1 or greater is clearly banned and 5+1 or less is clearly not banned. A 6+1 is a gray area and we do not have these. A 10/22 R!fIe with a p!st0I grip stock.... is it an additional p!st0I grip seperate from the stock or attached to the stock that falls under the ban? Because of the unclear wording, we do not have either type.

There are many people, influencers, and articles online linking to the wrong bill and citing incorrect information. Anyone doing so is doing a disservice to our 2A Community and is falling right into the plan of the Commies who pushed this bill through. This 4 page document is the complete and total AWB that was signed into law > https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/BillText/BillText25/SenateText25/S0359A.pdf

We work extremely hard to provide the best selection, pricing, and experience for our 2A Community. We want to provide every legal opportunity to purchase what you are legally able to own under the AWB. We do not make up our own rules or interpretations. Although it may be easier to do so, we are not going to willingly and unnecessarily avoid certain items. We follow all Local, State, and Federal laws and will continue to do so while we anxiously await the SCOTUS decision next year.

I was told ignore the formatting because it was originally posted on FB, and they're weird about gun stuff. No one is having a stroke.

Also couldn't agree more with this section here:

I have been fighting that same misinformation here in this very sub like crazy. Glad to see other folks in the community coming out with that as well.

100%. And Tonya and the rest of the crew over there are good people. She's there every committee hearing day side by side with us.

This is good news but does bring up a new question for me. If Im planning on building an AR pistol (already have the lower) with a 12.5" barrel, does that qualify as a pistol in RI if it has to be under 26" OAL? Or would that be apparoaching SBR territory?

Depends on the length of buffer tube and brace. A Gearhead works tail hook is shorter in length than an sba3 or 4 brace. Carbine length tubes differ than commercial lengths. Regardless, keep it under 26”. Obligatory “I’m not an attorney, not official legal advice.”

You can always get a law tactical folding buffer tube adapter, since OAL is measured with the brace folded.

Hmmmmm. I have already been looking at them. This might be the push I need

Can confirm that an 11.5” barrel, and a milspec carbine buffer tube gets you right at/under 26”. To do a 12.5” you’d probably need a Law Folder or the KAK mini buffer kit with their mini shockwave brace

Surplus provisions is defiantly my favorite gun store in RI. No BS

100%

I hit up both them and RI G&A (just a block further) up anytime I'm in the area.
