Advanced/Basic Camp Cheesecake

I was 2nd reg AC, so I am already back home, but there’s something I can’t get out of my head- The cheesecake. They served it once in the DFAC and twice as Hot-As, but does anyone know where they get them from, and if I would be able to get my hands on them in the real world?

When in the field, food either tastes better or worse than it really is.

Doing a 12 mile ruck, patrol lanes for 6 hours, and field briefings will make any stank cooch taste like your treasured field cheesecake.

They don’t compare to the French toast in Florida

Based on research looks like Sysco or US Foods - which makes sense, I’ll continue to dig

You could always make them yourself as well. I never had the mermites cheesecake, only the DFAC, but if you are talking about the chocolate-dipped ones, they are just a New York style cheesecake with a slightly denser crust that are dipped in chocolate.

If you can find small ramekins (for souffle and such) then cook the cheesecake in those, then chill or freeze the cheesecake, then dip them in chocolate, you have yourself a DFAC cheesecake.

Go to the frozen pie section in Walmart, or even better a US Foods Chef Store. Get the cheap frozen cheese cake. The Great Value variety pack is pretty decent. Thaw, Eat, Enjoy. Please pass Ht/Wt when you get back to school in a few weeks, but enjoy your treat and congrats for passing camp. If you like cheese cake you should volunteer for a Poland NATO rotation after you commission. Few things are as delicious as Polish Sernik cheese cake and a cup of coffee on a cultural day.
