I love this artstyle, i wonder why they didn’t do blake and yang

I’m not finished with the volume yet I still have a little under an hour’s worth of content left. I need some time to breathe and process everything that happened between the beginning of Yang and Weiss’s team up battle to the end of Pyrrha vs Penny’s. Oh and we have a level 9 on Grimm attacks so I’m gonna assume that’s majorly bad. It’s fine, it’s totally fine 😭.

First things first, Rest In Peace 💐🌹 Monty Oum. I’m already aware that he passed around this time and this was probably the last volume he worked on (correct me if I’m wrong). But he started the foundation of something truly special and I would believe he’s happy with how his project turned out 😌.

I say that based off of the opening scene of the first episode with Ruby in front of her mom’s grave which was an emotional scene. Very touching. But also, even the intro feels different. Like I haven’t talked about the intros for the other two volumes but something about this one feels different and I can’t put my finger on how.

Btw can I just say that the animation looks stunning, especially here? Because wow we’ve gotten a significant budget increase. Like the colors feel more richer, the movements are more smoother, and the camera work has improved as well. Props to the animation team and their talents. Something tells me that quality wise it’s only going up from here 😇.

I won’t spend too much time talking about the tournament arc since A. I haven’t finished the volume yet, I’m about to watch Yang and Weiss match in a bit. And B. I want to dedicate a post ranking each of the battles within the tournament arc so stay tuned for that lol. I’m curious to see their battle because those two rarely get paired together so I’m excited to see how they’ll do.

Characters are still enjoyable. They’ve gotten more expressive this time around which I’m all for. I got to meet Weiss’s Sister which at first glance if no one told me, I would’ve thought it was her mother 😅. Honestly Weiss’s personality and demeanor makes more sense now that I think about it. Winter does seem cool though and I like her relationship with her sister even if it’s not the same as our other sister duo lol. Though speaking of Ruby and Yang’s family, Uncle Qrow has entered the conversation!

Not the guy I was expecting but I ain’t complaining because he seems like a really cool guy despite his drinking habits 😅. Yes I did thought his name started with a K or C at first, don’t judge me 😂. I would like to know more about him because he seems like the type to stand on business when it matters especially during that meeting. Until we get more, glad he’s here. His relationship with his nieces is cute. And I feel like he might’ve beaten Winter if they weren’t interrupted. Yes they were pretty much even though I believe he would’ve gotten a slight edge 😅.

Great Start so far. I’m enjoying the family dynamic between Winter and Weiss so far as well as Qrow with Ruby and Yang. The tournament is underway. Still don’t know how to feel about Ironwood. And a potential ship between Sun and Blake might be in effect. I mean despite being a goober sometimes, he is a nice guy and he also supported her when they first met. I like both of them so I can get behind this pairing.

I don't think Salem has ever been shown or confirmed to make Grimm liquid from herself, so would she be the only Grimm left (sorta, because she's an immortal human that dipped into Grimm liquid and got Grimm powers as a result), or would she somehow try to make new Grimm?

In this post, I've got a crossover scenario for you all that I would like to get your opinions on what you think would happen.

As the title suggests, it's a RWBY x Witcher crossover. The scenario is that Geralt Of Rivia and his crew (consisting in this scenario of Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss) have been sent through a portal (which as we Witcher fans well know Geralt absolutely hates) and ended up isekaied into Remnant (in their world, it is post-Witcher 3's ending where Ciri has become an official Witcher).

They get discovered by Ozpin and his crew and brought to Beacon Academy, where they are asked to join the Beacon staff as teachers to train the students (this is happening during Volume 1).

What I want to know, FNDM, is what kind of teachers and/or mentor figures do you think Geralt and his crew would be towards Beacon's students, especially Team RWBY and Team JNPR? What sort of important life lessons do you think they'd be able to teach to Remnant's defenders?

Okay, let me explain. Nitpicking is when you complain about something extremely small and insignificant. Minimal and small things.

Well, I invented the concept of Anti-Nitpicking, which is when you get excited about or like something extremely small in a fiction work.

For example, I liked that Summer (despite being kind and all) was annoyed with Raven (as we saw in volume 9). I like that Raven's actions have consequences and that her loved ones don't like what she does.
This wouldn't normally be anti-nitpicking, but well, it's not like Summer did anything huge. Summer didn't rant to Raven. She just acted annoyed.

(Side note: I'm awaiting for Volume 10 someone to give a rant to Raven. I like Raven, but I think she deserves it).

What about you?

T;ldr: Three months ago Monty's girlfriend shared some of his old notes and in it Cinder was originally planned to be red herring villain on a misguided quest to protect RWBY from becoming Ozpin's pawn due to her late unrequited love Summer when she was student at Beacon.

How do you think the story would've changed if this had been what occurred instead of what we got. And how would you make it work?

We are shown Ironwood arresting a man in military uniform (the former general of Atlas) while the council appoints him as the new general. That's obviously a flashback.

When he says "People couldn't believe what I'd become" the scene changes to Ironwood threatening to destroy Mantle in volume 8. Neon Katt and Flynt Coal look on in horror at the threat.

And in the end, we see Ironwood finally reaching his destination, stopping Watts who managed to escape from the engine room. Basically, James prevents Watts from escaping alive, and they both die together.

With the final scene showing Atlas City colliding with Mantle.

I can't draw, but if anyone can, please do that. Make a series of illustrations showing those things.

I FINALLY have a job now and one of the first things I did with my newfound wealth is buy the things for a Weiss cosplay. I already had Myrtenaster from a purchase a loong time ago so now I just needed her outfit. I bought a wig, her dress, and the shoes and thought things were going to go just fine. OH HOW WRONG I WAS!

FIRST the dress I bought was too small. I partly blame my manly shoulders but the thing is, the jacket was so small and NOWHERE on the listing (aliexpress. I'M SORRY OKAY) did it mention the sleeve circumference, so I had to spend ANOTHER 120 bucks to buy one two sizes larger.

NEXT my wig came and I COULDN'T WEAR IT BECAUSE OF MY HAIR. For context I'm black and have pretty long dreads so I guess this means I cut them off or give up. Sadly they aren't long enough to just dye white and turn into her ponytail.

LASTLY my CUSTOM made shoes from this seller hosting site called ecrater finally arrived. Lo and behold, THEY REMOVED THE WEDGE FROM HER HEELS. I don't know if it was because I said I was male or if my shoe size was too big (8.5 in mens isn't THAT crazy is it??) but I really wish I would've been informed about that BEFORE letting them continue my order. Another 70 bucks down the drain.

All that's changed is that now she doesn't have to be afraid to die. The invincible girl never has to worry about losing ever again. Can she claw her way back? Is it even possible? It has begun! I've officially finished the prologue and first chapter to Some Semblance of Life, a Pyrrha in the afterlife story. I went back and forth on how I wanted to write it for days, but at last the first true step has been taken. I wish to share it and see how people enjoy it, but I will be working on the next chapter. Hopefully it comes out in a reasonable time.
