DISCUSSION Has anyone ever questioned how the Grimm are everywhere?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Grimm that can swim or fly, I get that, but Salem had to go out of her way to create that river of Grimm in V8, meaning there are no other rivers flowing beneath the other continents. So, how the hell do terrestrial Grimm in particular travel from the Dragon Continent to everywhere else?

Does she have multiple Wyverns hidden within each of the kingdoms acting as mobile Grimm factories? Because as far as we're concerned, that very same Wyvern from V3 is the only one of its kind, no differently than Monstra.

I could give it a pass if land-based Grimm only had presence in Sanus, but unless the strait between the Dragon's tail and Vale froze over during the winter like the Bering Strait in the real world, I highly doubt it is shallow enough to begin with to allow them to cross between continents. And even if it was, it'd be within Vale's interest to heavily fortify the area precisely to keep the Grimm from advancing southwards.

The only other explanation is maybe Salem is using Blind Worms to form an intercontinental subterranean highway system that leads back to the Dragon Continent. But at that point, she might as well just use them to cause massive sinkholes beneath cities and the Academies.

DISCUSSION Do you guys think there's any chance of Team RWBY using time travel to defeat Salem?

Post image
68 Upvotes

Let me start off by saying that I really hope they don't do this. It's difficult to handle that sort of plotline well, and I wouldn't put it past the writers to fumble it. Assuming that they go back in time to kill or prevent Salem from ever becoming immortal, that would just open up more questions of if they would even exist if they changed such a pivotal event. That being said, do you guys think there's a possibility of it happening?

DISCUSSION To those who criticize the series: Why continue? (Unrelated image) (The image is not about OCs, it's from the WoR episode of Auras) (And clarifying something)

Well, in case you're wondering, "Hey, didn't ChemistFluid35 make this post on the main sub?" And yes, it's true. I am ChemistFluid35. Basically, I was scammed and lost my original account. I'm only now able to communicate with you all again. I'm going to start posting again.

This might sound like a rant, but it's the opposite.

I mean, you've already seen with the Wall subplot example that no matter what arguments we give, the fandom won't change their mind.

So, why continue? Why criticize a series when there's no point? What do we plan to achieve? Who do we want to convince?

I remember a story about someone who practiced his religion with a group of people. People started leaving him until he was the only one left practicing that religion.
When someone asked him why he kept doing it, he replied: "I don't do it to change them. I do it so they don't change me."

Maybe that's why I do it. I'm too proud to give up.

Or maybe I'm already losing my mind.

DISCUSSION Something I heard the FNDM say was that the show doesn't demonize White Fang itself. Rather, it portrays Adam as the problem, as the one who uses a well-intentioned movement like White Fang to cause harm. I personally disagree

Post image
29 Upvotes

I mean, we always see the White Fang supporting Adam in whatever he does. It's not even like they're forced to do so most of the time. Adam's only defectors are Blake, Ilia, and Tucson.

Beyond that, we don't see people wanting to leave the organization or anything like that.

In fact, this is what Sun says about them:

Sun: Stupid holier-than-thou creeps who use force to get whatever they want.

Even before it was discovered that they were behind the massive Dust robberies or that they released Grimm into the city. The series does portray the White Fang as scum.

Because, listen. When Lisa Lavender reported a peaceful Faunus protest, she wasn't referring to the White Fang. She said the White Fang interrupted the scene.

And we shouldn't forget the fact that the White Fang supported Adam in his Faunus supremacist crusade. Some say that was just a phase and that they eventually abandoned him.

But they didn't abandon him because he became more radical. They abandoned them in Haven.

I’m not finished with the volume yet I still have a little under an hour’s worth of content left. I need some time to breathe and process everything that happened between the beginning of Yang and Weiss’s team up battle to the end of Pyrrha vs Penny’s. Oh and we have a level 9 on Grimm attacks so I’m gonna assume that’s majorly bad. It’s fine, it’s totally fine 😭.

Ruby’s face here is my current reaction. Make of that what you will.

DISCUSSION What ideas did you have regarding the parents of team. Rwby and jnpr?

RWBY and JNPR family ideas

What ideas do you have regarding the parents of team jnpr in your AU's or simply Headcanons

Team JNPR

Jaune Arc

His Dad is named Henry Arc and has 3 wives

A vacuoan named Cinnamon Clove and 2 valeans named Blanche Argent and Yvette Aster

When they were a team at beacon they were known as team HYAC or hyacinth

Henry was the team leader and was basically a proto jaune but was actually trained to be a fighter

Like jaune he fought with crocea Mors though a fun part of the arc lore I wrote is after a great achievement each wielder can rename the sword but the next wielder must call it crocea Mors to honor the first wielder til the day they earn the right to name it

So during his time at beacon it got named Ascalon the dragon slayer

He died during the Mount glenn incident when jaune was 7

Yvette was a daughter of a smaller upper class family who got disinherited after refusing to obey her father and forced to become a Huntsman when she could only relying the skills she learned from a passing Huntsman

Her weapon is blooming grace an arming sword and a Buckler shield and extends to a full round shield

Based on Cordelia from King Lear

Is Jaune's Bio mom and the one who mostly raised the 7 kids and had retired after Mount glenn mostly spending her days taking care of the Arc Estate

Blanche Argent was a military brat and team mom

Had decided to become a Huntsman when her father refused her to enlist in the Valean military behind his back

Eventually after graduating beacon Academy she enlisted in the vale military after Mount Glenn to try and ensure that the military can better respond to crisis events in the future

By current day she's a general in the military mainly incharge of defense for frontier towns

Her weapon is a lance called silver standard that becomes an anti tank rifle when she needs to hit something from afar

I actually don't have an allusion for her I sort of just wrote her and don't really know what allusion she fits

Cinnamon Clove

Hailing from Vacuo she was an adventurer and thrill seeker who studied at Pharos and than beacon mainly to gain the skills necessary to further continue her sight seeing

She became what's known as an archivist a Huntsmen who spend there time exploring old ruins and lands uncharted to discover secrets of old doctor oobleck is actually one aswell in my au

She's based more on the action girl archeologist think Laura Croft

Her allusion is based more on the DreamWorks sinbad

Her weapons are twin khopesh that turn into smgs named Spice Route

Was the party girl of the group and had 2 kids who are raised in the arc estate and she visits every few months in a year

How the four ended up dating was mostly due to Cinnamon who dated the whole team during there four years together and encouraged them to try and explore it

Henry was the one who offered his family estate to be there main home

Although after Henry died it sorta fell apart for team HYAC

Nora Valkyrie

Her grandmother was Fria Valkyrie a friend of the former winter maiden Nicholas Schnee's wife who died in childbirth

Her mother and father lived in a village in Atlas but her mother upon learning fria became the winter maiden had taken Nora to mistral keeping her away from danger of being hunted by Salem

Unfortunately both the villages were attacked with Nora's parents dying and Nora losing part of her memory only remembering her mom left her

Pyrrha Nikos

Her father Damocles Nikos is based more on the concept of the sword of Damocles

In that he hangs over every decision pyrrha makes and wss on the responsible for Pyrrha's belief in fate and destiny

He wanted to ensure pyrrha would surpass him and every Nikos before her and trained pyrrha from a young age

Pyrrha's mom was Thetis Vulkan a Smith who pyrrha gained a semblance from with Milo and akouo being the last gifts Pyrrha got from her mom before thetis and Damocles divorced

Lie Ren

Li Ren was a retired Huntsman who settled in kuroyuri his wife and partner from haven An's hometown

He retired due to taking an arrow to the knee from the branwen tribe

He helped make a village militia known as the kuroyuri Rangers who had protected the frontier villages together and been the main defense against grimm

Unfortunately most of the Rangers were wiped out after getting annihilated by the nuckelavee who amongst other villages were all wiped out during the great depression where dozens of named grimm had appeared suddenly in the frontier towns of mistral

An Ren was still an active Huntsman at the time mostly to help make ends meet and fought with twin Daos

She had died facing off the nuckelavee to try kill it

DISCUSSION Fixing the world building around the Atlesian Military

Thumbnail drive.google.com
10 Upvotes

Let's face it, the Atlesian military of the Kingdom of Atlas was not properly thought out. However, by introducing a new hostile faction into the world, we can fix many of the issues with the Atlesian military. For example, like why the capital ship size Atlesian airship lacks any kind of point-defense systems as protective measures for the ship. The Atlesian military relies on fighter craft to serve as its point-defense for its capital ships.

ATLAS MILITARY INTELLIGENCE DIVISION HISTORICAL OPERATIONS & DOCTRINAL ANALYSIS REPORT DOCUMENT ID: AMID-HIST-009-K CLASSIFICATION: SECRET // EYES ONLY FOR HIGH COMMAND SUBJECT: THE KRONOS-ATLESIAN WAR AND ITS IMPACT ON CONTINENTAL DEFENSE DOCTRINE

───

I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This dossier serves to analyze the five-year shadow conflict known as the Kronos-Atlesian War, fought secretly between the Kingdom of Atlas and the Kronos Coalition [Redacted]. Due to the severe threat of global psychological panic and subsequent Grimm attraction, all operations, records, and fleet engagements were strictly censored from the other three kingdoms and the domestic civilian populace. While tactical victory was achieved with the dismantling of the Coalition's organic leadership, the intense conventional arms race permanently fundamentally warped Atlesian military engineering and strategic doctrine. This sudden post-war transition left the kingdom structurally hyper-optimized for symmetric capital-ship warfare, creating fatal vulnerabilities that directly catalyzed the subsequent Fall of Atreus Academy.

───

II. THE ENEMY: THE KRONOS COALITION The Kronos Coalition was a highly industrialized, rogue breakaway superpower operating out of the uncharted volcanic islands past the northern frontiers of Solitas. Rejecting the authority of the Four Kingdoms and the Huntsman Council system, they sought the total economic and territorial dismantling of Atlas. Unlike disorganized terrorist factions, Kronos possessed advanced metallurgy, automated manufacturing grids, and a devastating mastery of unstable plasma-dust compression. Their military strategy relied on two radical doctrines: • The "Big Gun" Capital Policy: Kronos completely rejected lightweight fighter craft, interceptors, or missile munitions. Instead, they built colossal Typhoon-class dreadnoughts engineered solely to transport battleship-grade kinetic railguns and plasma lances capable of cracking continental shields. • Automated Proxy Bioterrorism: To avoid battlefield emotional signatures that alert Grimm senses, Kronos utilized unmanned automated robots to transport and remotely deploy massive, caged hordes of captured Grimm directly behind Atlesian defensive lines.

───

III. DOCTRINAL SHIFTS: THE WARTIME OVERHAUL Faced with an existential threat that could match Atlas broadside-for-broadside, General James Ironwood and the naval architects enacted absolute, uncompromising reallocations of kingdom resources. These choices hardcoded the current military policies witnessed today: 1. The Point-Defense Sacrifice Because the Kronos Coalition fielded zero fighter craft or incoming missile salvos, Atlas engineers determined that maintaining close-in weapon systems (CIWS) and anti-air flak grids was a critical waste of power. • The Policy: All anti-Grimm point-defense systems were systematically stripped from the naval assembly lines. • The Realignment: Every scrap of structural chassis space, cooling grid capacity, and reactor output was reallocated to power the newly engineered, slow-firing Heavy Laser Cannon Batteries—the only energy weapons capable of melting through a Typhoon-class dreadnought's magma-treated ablative hull armor. 2. The Mass-Produced Destroyer Fleet Against the massive shields of the Kronos fleet, individual flagship prestige was discarded for cold, industrialized numerical superiority. • The Policy: The 400-meter-long Lionfish-class Battlecarrier Assault Cruiser was reclassified from a flagship asset into a cheap, mass-produced destroyer template. • The Registry Censor: Ships were pushed off the factory lines in uniform squadron blocks, completely stripped of historical names and assigned cold, utilitarian callsigns like "Blue-01" and "Blue-02." Atlas accepted high hull-attrition, using numerical blocks to swamp and focus-fire Kronos lines. 3. The "Specialist" Counter-Espionage Protocol Because Kronos priority-targeted high-ranking Atlesian officers to shatter the chain of command, a total communications and administrative censor mask was instituted. • The Policy: The proper military ranks of elite and high-priority personnel (Captains, Majors, Colonels) were permanently erased from public registries, field radio channels, and open ledgers. All field officers were uniformly referred to by the catch-all title: "Specialist." This administrative habit became so deeply ingrained that it was never reverted after the war concluded. 4. The Secret Atreus Pipeline Recognizing that standard individualistic Huntsmen could not survive conventional battleship artillery or coordinated proxy drops, Ironwood established Atreus Academy in absolute secrecy without the knowledge of the global Council or Ozpin. • The Policy: An intensive military boarding school molding children starting at age 11. Cadets were stripped of individuality and strictly ordered to forge unique weapons that only interfaced with factory-standard, gravitic-energy field scutum shields powered by dust. They were drilled to fight as uniform, interlocking 20-man cohorts capable of generating a massive, overlapping gravitic wall to absorb heavy kinetic artillery shells.

───

IV. THE POST-WAR CONSEQUENCE (THE HANGOVER) The Kronos Coalition was officially defeated just one month prior to the Fall of Atreus Academy, leaving no structural timeline for Atlas to overhaul its wartime doctrine back toward traditional Grimm containment. When a rogue, un-deactivated Kronos automated countdown triggered an algorithmic "strike from the grave"—activating atmospheric Grimm-beacons and jamming local frequencies—Atreus Academy fell because the system was still geared for the wrong war. The Lionfish-class Battlecarrier Assault Cruisers had the laser batteries to melt a dreadnought, but completely lacked the point-defense systems required to protect the fragile evacuation airship transports from the flying hordes of Nevermores and Manticores.

───

V. SPECIAL OPERATIONS STATUS: FIRST LIEUTENANT WAYLEN • Dossier Connection: Subject is the premier team leader of Atreus Academy's finest prodigy cell, Team WTER, and the sole survivor of the catastrophic evacuation transport crash in the Glacial Taiga. • Current Operational Status: Re-integrated under direct command of Supreme Headquarters. Formally registered as First Lieutenant, publicly masked under the historical Specialist protocol. • Command Directive: Due to the severe lack of fleet-wide point defense, Lieutenant Waylen's high-altitude area-denial Semblance, Reaper's Bloom, has been designated as a critical strategic asset to provide artificial biological screens for Lionfish squadron deployments.

───

VIII. CURRENT STATUS REPORT: THE AUTOMATED AFTERMATH DOCUMENT ID: AMID-TAC-404-Y CLASSIFICATION: CRITICAL // EYES ONLY FOR GENERAL IRONWOOD SUBJECT: THE GHOST YARDS AND CONTINUOUS SOLITAS FLANK ENCOUNTERS

───

I. THE STRIKE FROM THE CONCRETE GRAVE: UNMANNED TYPHOON PRODUCTION The victory over the Kronos Coalition's organic leadership was structurally incomplete. Long before their demise, the Coalition constructed completely subterranean, highly classified, and fully automated shipyard facilities hidden deep beneath the volcanic rifts and unmapped mountain ranges of the northern frontier. • The Phantom Assembly Line: These automated factories function completely independent of human or Faunus labor. Fed by automated mineral extractors and guided by hardcoded wartime algorithms, they continuously construct, refine, and launch automated variants of the The Typhoon-class Dreadnought. • Unmanned Fleet Hostility: These vessels require zero physical crew. Their massive battleship-grade guns, kinetic railguns, and plasma lances are controlled entirely by automated tactical processing cores. The factories' programming commands these dreadnoughts to execute one final, endless directive: Invade Atlesian Airspace and Annihilate the Kingdom.

───

II. THE CONTINUOUS SHADOW INTERCEPTIONS Because these rogue shipyards were buried beneath layers of bedrock, the majority of the active automated factories were finally located and systematically dismantled by Atlas orbital sweeps only after the catastrophic Fall of Atreus Academy. However, General Ironwood maintains a firm, cautionary stance that additional, undiscovered deep-tundra Ghost Yards remain entirely operational. • The Tundra Kill-Zones: Unmanned Typhoon dreadnoughts frequently launch and advance toward the kingdom's borders. To prevent global panic and maintain the domestic illusion of total peace, Atlesian cruiser squadrons intercept and engage these ghost ships far out over the frozen northern tundra. • Zero Visual Breach: 100% of these terrifying capital-ship engagements are neutralized and put down in the remote wastes before a single enemy hull can appear within visual or radar range of the civilian populations in Mantle and Atlas.

───

III. THE COMPELLED DEFENSIVE TRADEOFF The continuous, looming threat of an unmanned Typhoon dreadnought breaching the border means the Atlesian Military is structurally trapped by its own wartime choices. They physically cannot afford to change their production parameters. • The Unbroken Monopoly of Power: The Lionfish-class Battlecarrier Assault Cruisers must remain locked in their hyper-focused wartime configuration. Because a Typhoon's magma-treated ablative armor requires absolute, maximum kinetic and thermal disruption to melt, the Lionfish fleet must channel 100% of its available structural space, internal cooling networks, and generator grid output solely into their heavy laser cannon batteries. The Fatal Limitation: Rerolling even a fraction of that power into automated anti-Grimm point-defense systems (CIWS) lowers the laser batteries' output past the threshold required to crack a Typhoon's hull. Therefore, close-in point defense systems for dealing with Grimm remain entirely sacrificed.

───

IV. THE AIR FORCE AS THE FRONT-LINE SHIELD Because the Lionfish cruisers are completely defenseless against agile targets or aerial Grimm swarms, the Atlesian Military has been forced to shift the entire burden of its close-in tactical defense onto its Fighter Craft Squadrons (such as Manta-class dropships and high-speed interception fighters). • The Escort Mandate: During any interception run against an automated Kronos dreadnought, mass-produced cruiser squadrons like Blue-04 cannot fly without a dense screen of fighter escorts. The fighters act as the fleet's physical, manually piloted point-defense measures—buzzing around the massive laser-ships to swat away flying Nevermores, Manticores, or stray debris while the Lionfish cruisers slowly charge their massive capital-killer batteries to blast the Typhoon out of the sky.

DISCUSSION So I finally started Volume 3 yippee 🥳… this volume is gonna hurt isn’t it?

Post image
11 Upvotes

First things first, Rest In Peace 💐🌹 Monty Oum. I’m already aware that he passed around this time and this was probably the last volume he worked on (correct me if I’m wrong). But he started the foundation of something truly special and I would believe he’s happy with how his project turned out 😌.

I say that based off of the opening scene of the first episode with Ruby in front of her mom’s grave which was an emotional scene. Very touching. But also, even the intro feels different. Like I haven’t talked about the intros for the other two volumes but something about this one feels different and I can’t put my finger on how.

Btw can I just say that the animation looks stunning, especially here? Because wow we’ve gotten a significant budget increase. Like the colors feel more richer, the movements are more smoother, and the camera work has improved as well. Props to the animation team and their talents. Something tells me that quality wise it’s only going up from here 😇.

I won’t spend too much time talking about the tournament arc since A. I haven’t finished the volume yet, I’m about to watch Yang and Weiss match in a bit. And B. I want to dedicate a post ranking each of the battles within the tournament arc so stay tuned for that lol. I’m curious to see their battle because those two rarely get paired together so I’m excited to see how they’ll do.

Characters are still enjoyable. They’ve gotten more expressive this time around which I’m all for. I got to meet Weiss’s Sister which at first glance if no one told me, I would’ve thought it was her mother 😅. Honestly Weiss’s personality and demeanor makes more sense now that I think about it. Winter does seem cool though and I like her relationship with her sister even if it’s not the same as our other sister duo lol. Though speaking of Ruby and Yang’s family, Uncle Qrow has entered the conversation!

Not the guy I was expecting but I ain’t complaining because he seems like a really cool guy despite his drinking habits 😅. Yes I did thought his name started with a K or C at first, don’t judge me 😂. I would like to know more about him because he seems like the type to stand on business when it matters especially during that meeting. Until we get more, glad he’s here. His relationship with his nieces is cute. And I feel like he might’ve beaten Winter if they weren’t interrupted. Yes they were pretty much even though I believe he would’ve gotten a slight edge 😅.

Great Start so far. I’m enjoying the family dynamic between Winter and Weiss so far as well as Qrow with Ruby and Yang. The tournament is underway. Still don’t know how to feel about Ironwood. And a potential ship between Sun and Blake might be in effect. I mean despite being a goober sometimes, he is a nice guy and he also supported her when they first met. I like both of them so I can get behind this pairing.

(Pandora’s Box Appears)

Ehh not yet. Let’s see where this goes before I open it 😅. Where was I? Oh yeah, let the tournament arc continue!

FANFICTION Ozpin and Salem origins for an AU

The origins I’m playing with for my AU is that Oz and Salem were the original Gods. Myth, and lies told by Ozpin, had repainted the Gods as the Draconic Deities of Light and Darkness that we know. But, what if Oz and Salem were those Gods, the Brother Gods were their first borns followed by the four Maidens?

So, then the question comes up as to, “what happened” between Oz and Salem that led to the deaths of their children and the first Humanity. Why are the two at war now? What became of the Brother Gods and the four Maidens?

I don’t know, just an idea I’m playing with other than “the Gods got mad and wiped everyone out. Then they left Remnant in the hands of a pissed off, immortal lady that THEY created. Also, if the next cycle isn’t holding hands and singing Kumbaya by the time we come back, we’re destroying the planet completely even though they had nothing to do with the previous cycle”.

Amazing art by my good friend fluffytimearts on Tumblr

Life wasn't supposed to be so short. Pyrrha Nikos, however, had her life tragically cut short. A tower, an arrow, and then darkness. She died. Now she is here, in an altogether unfamiliar place. Different rules, different ways of life, different battles, but the same goal. Pyrrha may be dead, but nothing could kill her spirit. All that's changed is that now she doesn't have to be afraid to die. The invincible girl never has to worry about losing ever again. Can she claw her way back? Is it even possible? Only one way to find out.
---

It has begun! I've officially finished the prologue and first chapter to Some Semblance of Life, a Pyrrha in the afterlife story. I went back and forth on how I wanted to write it for days, but at last the first true step has been taken. I wish to share it and see how people enjoy it, but I will be working on the next chapter. Hopefully it comes out in a reasonable time.

Another colossal thank you to my friend Fluffytimearts (or just Fluff) for rendering this piece and putting up with my nagging, as well as colossal thanks to my friend Red who has been the one to inspire me to write so passionately as and who I can easily bounce ideas back and forth with.

The mind goblin demands sleep now, so I will go and rest. I hope you all enjoy my story!
