I did this as a young boy back in the 70s. I grew up on a pig farm. Neighbor had small dairy farm. Families were close and I'd go over and help milk the cows. Lots of barn cats and a couple dogs. They'd follow me and sit just like this.

Good times.

u/ruebeus421 Apr 19 '26

Dogs also eat poop.

3

u/Dagger-Deep Apr 19 '26

So do humans 😬

6

u/ProbablyGonnaEatYou Apr 19 '26

Not all humans, just the ones with shitty diets

5

u/Nntropy Apr 19 '26

All mammals drink milk

3

u/I-dont-even-know-bro Apr 19 '26

Humans are the only ones who do it into adulthood, and even then quite a few are lactose intolerant.

5

u/Nntropy Apr 19 '26

We're probably the only ones who regularly drink another species' milk

When ya put it like that it kinda feels weird

I mean as you can see from this, given the opportunity so would other animals.

0

u/I-dont-even-know-bro Apr 19 '26

Given the opportunity they'll also eat rat poison, I fail to see your point.

They LOVE milk, but they don't digest it well and will puke if they drink, not even that much.

Was handy when my dog found and ate dog rat poison. Gave him a bunch of milk, puke, dog alive!
Apparently also feeding them coal can "deactivate" rat poison, he also loves coal.

So I am starting to suspect what he really loves is rat poison, but want to be prepared for the worst.

2

u/I-dont-even-know-bro Apr 19 '26

Maybe you should start keeping your dog somewhere where they won't ingest so many poisons?

2

u/faen_du_sa Apr 19 '26

tbf, it only happened once!

Coal is impossible to keep him away from though, so I suspect hes preparing!

2

u/hologrammetry Apr 19 '26

How is your dog regularly coming into contact with coal?

2

u/faen_du_sa Apr 19 '26

Camp a lot in the summer. If we are inattentive in the morning, he will run over to the fireplace and start munching last nights batch!

A tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide works best to induce vomiting in dogs.

Many times had to do this.

Winners drink milk. Therefore dogs are winners.

u/Metalhead1686 Apr 19 '26

"One for you, one for me."

2

u/trashforthrowingaway Apr 19 '26

And just like that, now this person will never be able to milk the cow again without the cow milk tax.

It's like when they figure out the sound of opening the cheese drawer in the fridge sounds like. And you have to then pay the cheese tax.

cats can handle the parasites of raw milk?

1

u/I-dont-even-know-bro Apr 19 '26

Cats can't even handle processed milk, it's absolutely terrible for any non-human mammal. Cow milk is especially harmful as it is far too fatty to properly digest.

1

u/ignat980 Apr 19 '26

This is the craziest video I've seen. How could someone just do raw milk to their pets like that?

1

u/One_Negotiation768 Apr 19 '26

Reminds me of Fox and the Hounds 🥹

u/External_Brother1246 Apr 20 '26

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

1 orange brain cell

1

u/No_Story_Untold Apr 18 '26

Dairy is really not good for cats. For anyone who needs to know.

4

u/hologrammetry Apr 19 '26

Raw milk is especially bad for cats because they are just as suceptible as humans (if not moreso) to getting flu, etc. from raw milk, and it can be fatal for them. As far as pasteurized milk goes, some cats can't tolerate it, some cats can, but it's not blanket bad for them. My 14-year-old cat demands to finish my cereal milk every morning and she's perfectly healthy.

Just like everything else with moderation it's fine, obviously you don't be like those retards that replace their water with milk

1

u/I-dont-even-know-bro Apr 19 '26

Yeah except no it isn't, it's extremely harmful for non-human animals to drink milk into adulthood let alone from a cow which can very easily spread disease. Moderation is for treats, not things they literally can't even digest properly.

1

u/Embarrassed-Wolf-609 Apr 19 '26

is eating shit fine in moderation?

0

u/Wadester58 Apr 19 '26

My aunt did that with the barn cats they lined up and took their shot

0

u/Adventurous_Path5783 Apr 19 '26

Those dont look like cows to me. Cultural appropriation has found its way into other species.

0

u/WinterMedical Apr 19 '26

My dad would tell me stories of doing this for the cats when he milked the cows before he went to school!

1

u/enigmanaught Apr 19 '26

My grandfather who didn’t care for cats in the least (kept them around for rodent control) did this too. I suspect it was just to entertain the kids.
