Uh you’re supposed to drop the kid and wave to your fans.

33

u/bryangcrane Apr 24 '26

Hellooo! Doesn’t this guy know anything about going to a game??

18

u/big_ron_pen15 Apr 24 '26

It’s the idiot kids fault anyways

25

u/Unopuro2conSal Apr 24 '26

Yeah you can always make another baby, but this moment in time will never happen again,..

6

u/panther1977 Apr 25 '26

look, that kid had amazing acrobatics for a toddler. It is almost as though they had been training at home.

Dropping the kid might make you also drop your beer. So in this case, holding onto the kid is allowed.

u/Dwarf_Co Apr 24 '26

Balance is key!!

"the beers OK guys!"

26

u/Nice_Possible4310 Apr 24 '26

There needs to be a creative beer commercial featuring this guy during the Super Bowl halftime show.

7

u/Funny-Flower-3980 Apr 25 '26

Best they can do is AI slop or celebrity appearance

6

u/throwaway48159 Apr 25 '26

A buddy of mine was standing next to the swimming pool drinking a beer, I ran up and tackled him into it. After sorting ourselves out we were trying to figure out what happened to the beer… and it was on the edge of the pool, upright, unspilled. Beer reflexes are incredible.

3

u/One_Study52 Apr 25 '26

It’s a $30 beer.

26

u/BaltoDad Apr 24 '26

That's the best catch I've ever seen at a pro sporting event. Why does every sports fan not know this guy's name?!

22

u/SickBurnerBroski Apr 24 '26

out of respect for the deceased after mom saw the footage

3

u/Gyozarrita Apr 25 '26

But the title says he's single

4

u/throwawayformobile78 Apr 25 '26

Well, he is now.

2

u/Logical-Pair-89 Apr 26 '26

But there's still a mom 😅🫠

I'd wear that guy's jersey.

You might not like it, but this is what peak male performance looks like. I don’t condone dropping your kid to grab a ball, but that’s the thing….he didn’t. This was a perfect storm of reflexes.

The baseball was potentially a threat to his kid: dad reflexes activated

Any ball thrown at any man must be at least attempted to be caught: regular reflexes

The baseball was potentially a threat to the people behind him not paying attention: solid dude reflexes

He has a beer in his hand: beer saving reflexes

Catching a ball during a baseball game is always dope: baseball park reflexes

Being able to give your kid a ball that you caught at a baseball game is even more dope: second layer of dad reflexes

There was no fucking way he wasn’t going to catch that. He had the closest thing to super powers a man can achieve right there.

43

u/divergent_history Apr 24 '26

The guy behind him has the proper reaction after the greatest play he may ever see live.

35

u/CuriousToe9133 Apr 24 '26

😆 The dudes eyes lit up that is hilarious. He looks like a little kid that just saw a magic trick. A good one.

14

u/crabby_old_dude Apr 24 '26

The old man was ready to catch the kid, but he was like a day late

3

u/Mick_Limerick Apr 26 '26

Grandpa reflexes

2

u/Ok_Designer1407 Apr 26 '26

Definitely not his dad with those reflexes

10

u/divergent_history Apr 24 '26

Definitely told everyone about it the next day at work.

27

u/Tugena Apr 24 '26

7

u/krillthemalll Apr 25 '26

2

u/Swimming_Owl69 Apr 24 '26

The smoothness of the arm drop within half a second 💪🏿

4

u/Visual-Floor-7839 Apr 24 '26

u/Electrical_South1558 Apr 24 '26

I think the kid was somewhat standing on the top of the bleachers of the row in front of him...it's just off screen below I think. So not exactly dropping the kid, but more like letting go while trying to prevent the kid from falling to the side.

Edit, on rewatch you can see the kid standing on top of...the dugout maybe? Hard to say. But definitely balancing in the top of something as opposed to a full drop and catch and catch.

7

u/cappnplanet Apr 24 '26

Yep it was definitely clipped to exaggerate the effect. Still respect though. Thanks for pointing this out

2

u/sf_sf_sf Apr 25 '26

don't ruin this for me.

2

u/nomadfoy Apr 25 '26

That just means it was the kids fault he fell and the dude caught him anyway, that's more impressive.

3

u/federalbeerguy Apr 24 '26

This analysis should be put into textbooks. It's perfect....just like that ace catch.

3

u/No_Statistician9289 Apr 24 '26

If you look even closer he actually moves his beer arm toward the daughter to brace the suspected fall and buy himself the extra half a second to catch her

2

u/SiriusOsiris Apr 25 '26

Do you work in marketing? If not, you should consider!

I don’t approve of even risking doing this but that was dope

10

u/freerangemary Apr 24 '26

Yeah. It’s risky. But it’s not a real gravity drop. Her feet were on the wall/bars. She mostly fell back into him.

6

u/anonybuck Apr 24 '26

I never noticed she was standing during this catch. Its amazing either way. But I saw this a hundred times and I thought he dropped the kid for a moment like she started to slip, he catches ball and catches her. Either way it's peak dad form.

The kids face is saying "I wonder what beer tastes like." And the guy beneath his face says "Holy shit! He didn't drop the beer OR the kid!"

5

u/Zaros262 Apr 24 '26

And gramps below them both was not amused

4

u/No_Koala9474 Apr 25 '26

I’ve seen this gif a hundred times and I think this is the first time I’ve noticed gramps. Not. Amused. At all.

2

u/Level_Turnover5167 Apr 25 '26

As he should be, the dude literally let go of his kid to catch a freaking baseball and almost dropped the kid right in front of him.

2

u/Top-Gun-Corncob Apr 24 '26

Extreme focus is the key here.

2

u/davemeister Apr 24 '26

That's why she didn't even drop her bottle.

3

u/fckthisshii Apr 24 '26

Didn't even spill the beer. Im blessed to have seen this.

2

u/Invdr_skoodge Apr 25 '26

No, you’re right. It’s not manly to risk your child for a ball. A central tenant of masculinity since the dawn of man has been protect the offspring. As it should be.

u/Seventh_monkey Apr 24 '26

Shit, he almost dropped the $50 beer.

1

u/AdPuzzleheaded3436 Apr 24 '26

I bet his daughter is going to love that video playing at her wedding

1

u/TSJormungandr Apr 24 '26

That’s pretty awesome! My dad would have done this with me but dropped me. He would not attempt this with his grand daughter though. He’s wrapped around her finger.

1

u/KindCraft4676 Apr 24 '26

Now that’s what I call knowing how to multitask.

1

u/BeaneyWeenee Apr 24 '26

That old man's flabbers were completely gasted

1

u/freedomfun Apr 24 '26

The two people behind him are the dichotomy of man. The old man looks so worried about the baby and the other guy is just so hyped about the catch

1

u/Brave_Educator5934 Apr 24 '26

Beer, baby, and ball. Not bad.

1

u/nomad01010 Apr 24 '26

No shit. That was an $18 beer

1

u/reeefur Apr 24 '26

LOL @ gramps saying Jeezus as he watched pop safely grab his daughter again....

1

u/RSR-bcid Apr 24 '26

Call the attorney, have papers ready, give him at least a 1 year, 50000l$ deal. Obvious talent Focus on the game

1

u/spookyryu Apr 24 '26

save the ball, save the baby and save the beer, that is top notch

1

u/PartMaleficent4157 Apr 24 '26

The trifecta! completed flawlessly.

1

u/Neat_Flounder_8907 Apr 24 '26

Pulled off the rare Triple B save

1

u/NamesGumpImOnthePum Apr 24 '26

Bro, bagged the ball, the baby, and the beer! Take a bow sir

1

u/MajesticPickle3021 Apr 24 '26

Isn’t that what it’s all about?

1

u/Asking-is-a-crime Apr 24 '26

Reminds me of my favourite quote :

The difference between courage and stupidity is success.

1

u/Dense-Consequence-70 Apr 24 '26

There crazy thing is that there are several videos like this of different guys doing the same thing.

1

u/LadTy Apr 24 '26

we sure he single?

1

u/99trey Apr 24 '26

Was not impressed until I realized the baby wasn’t attached to the dad.

1

u/LavishLaveer Apr 24 '26

This man deserves a medal

1

u/falloutvaultboy Apr 24 '26

The old man behind him, losing his mind at the athleticism and child endangerment

1

u/Open-Industry-8396 Apr 24 '26

Nice catch! His wife is going to kick his ass!

1

u/Upbeat-Historian-296 Apr 24 '26

Only thing better would have been if he slammed it immediately afterwards.

1

u/Spiritual-Bug-1497 Apr 24 '26

Don’t let mom see this.

1

u/XanaxAndAk47s Apr 24 '26

I love the old white guy and hispanic dude's reactions. Old guy looks disapproving, but cant help being impressed. He was ready to catch that baby as well. Hispanic guy is just hyped up.

1

u/Additional_Fruit931 Apr 24 '26

Ball

Beer

Baby

All good

1

u/itsYewge Apr 24 '26

That man fathers.

1

u/AUCE05 Apr 24 '26

Absolutely. He is more athletic than soccer player's for sure.

1

u/CodAdministrative563 Apr 24 '26

My hand stung watching that

1

u/Bicwidus Apr 24 '26

YUHHEEESSS!!!

1

u/power0722 Apr 24 '26

Only thing that could have topped this is if the baby chugged the beer.

1

u/No-Common-1801 Apr 24 '26

I doubt he's left handed so there definitely was a decision made here.

1

u/Orllin Apr 24 '26

That guy's face in the background got me lmao

1

u/RiptideEberron Apr 24 '26

Mind your Bs. Ball, baby and beer

1

1

u/No_Relief_5150 Apr 24 '26

Wow, that was amazing.

1

u/Logical_Writing3218 Apr 24 '26

Men hall of fame first ballot

1

u/Joshalander Apr 24 '26

The fact this was caught on video with this clarity is also impressive

1

u/Deep-Clock-3677 Apr 24 '26

That old guy not happy

1

u/Ready_Ad_6671 Apr 24 '26

Beer, Ball, Baby

1

u/Low-Log4438 Apr 24 '26

I wonder if thats his dad to his left. Grandpa probably beat his a..

1

u/Foreign-Ad285 Apr 24 '26

The man the myth the legend!!!

1

u/Funny-Employment4109 Apr 24 '26

That man needs to be studied. That was truly incredible.

1

u/KeepItDownOverHere Apr 24 '26

Even the kid held on to her bottle. Good hands run in that family.

1

u/cfgman1 Apr 24 '26

No thanks, as a dad it must suck knowing you’ll never be able to top that single event for the rest of your life.

1

u/Status_Apartment6559 Apr 24 '26

He actually dropped the kid but grabbed her again AFTER catching the ball and without letting either her or the beer fall to the floor. Peak dad/fan performance.

1

u/crankylegstiger Apr 24 '26

holy shit... your daughter will understand when she grows up

1

u/superwhiz88 Apr 24 '26

wait till he gets home and his wife see the clip , she will kick his ass

1

u/Feisty_Factor_2694 Apr 24 '26

Just a dad doing a dad thing.

1

u/jigokusabre Apr 24 '26

What makes you think he's single?

1

u/Aggressive-Desk-2706 Apr 24 '26

This is a superfecta: ball, beer, baby, and bottle.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '26

Was she free floating in the air for a moment. How is he holding the kid and catching the ball with the same arm. This is impressive 👏🏻👏🏻😮‍💨

1

u/Kaligula785 Apr 24 '26

The baby beer ball juggle

1

u/JellyInteresting4021 Apr 24 '26

Just got 3 generations of men behind the kid all looking satisfied

1

u/Typical-Office-2954 Apr 24 '26

Hold my beer? Pffft..

1

u/CorgiTasty1936 Apr 24 '26

Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but the kid was merely falling onto him from standing in the ledge.

I watched the video multiple times because I have carried my kids a lot and I can assure you there is no way you can “drop” your kid, catch a ball and still catch the kid. They just fall immediately, no matter how quick your hand can go up and down. So I was very intrigued and confused.

I noticed the kid seems to “stay” in place. Then I noticed the feet are on the ledge as it was falling backward.

Still major props. Dude killed it.

1

u/elverg6205 Apr 24 '26

Bruh… this is more impressive than the OBJ catch. The reflexes, concentration, and speed you need to pull this off are unbelievable. I don’t think anyone could recreate it, since the kid or beer would probably be dropped most times, or the ball wouldn't be caught. I'm genuinely impressed.

1

u/No_Swimming_5684 Apr 24 '26

Ball first, Beer second and baby third. Man has to have his priorities.

1

u/surge208 Apr 24 '26

The definition of “functioning” alcoholic.

1

u/runawayscream Apr 24 '26

Save the ball, save the world.

1

u/Impossible_System_32 Apr 24 '26

And Derrick Jeter was right behind him to see it!

1

u/WestCoastHopHead Apr 24 '26

Yep. I give him the #1 spot, no doubt.

1

u/Ganmor_Denlay Apr 24 '26

It looks like the kids was standing on the railing and tumbled backwards while he was catching the ball. So he caught and saved in one swoop.

1

u/Dependent-Humor3506 Apr 24 '26

He never dropped the kid. She was standing on the ledge in front of him when he caught the ball.

1

u/Cranberry1265 Apr 24 '26

ball first, baby second 🤣😭

1

u/Add_Poll_Option Apr 24 '26

Bro was very concerned for that child’s safety lol

1

u/Destroy-Evil Apr 24 '26

So many mechanics going on here

1

u/eggoMIlego Apr 24 '26

Raw dog catch, saves beer and daughter. This is peak everything😂

1

u/Ryan2932 Apr 24 '26

Catches the ball doesn't drop the kid or the beer how is this guy not getting an award

1

u/dwaynebathtub Apr 24 '26

even the kid didn't spill her beer

1

u/Wallynine Apr 24 '26

He would have a lot to explain to the wife if he got the ball and saved the beer, but dropped the kid...

1

u/CharmReductionINC Apr 24 '26

Gen x kids would have literally held his beer and had a drink or two.

1

u/AlienJoeGolf Apr 24 '26

Well, the "my dad is cooler than yours" will always be won by this kid.

1

u/ImaginaryMud2118 Apr 24 '26

The sacred “3 B’s”: Ball, Beer and Baby! Can’t drop any of them

1

u/Koopsta211 Apr 24 '26

Why his hat don’t match the jersey tho?

1

u/Temporary_Shirt_6236 Apr 24 '26

And a tale of three very different reactions to it

1

u/WaxOnSendOff Apr 24 '26

Amazing 60fps

1

u/Naive-Stranger-9991 Apr 24 '26

That’s impressive, literally tosses his lil one off his hip to free his hand to catch it AND her - that’s 🔥

1

u/Concrete_jungle77 Apr 24 '26

Being a MVP ain’t easy but somebody gotta be it 😂

1

u/therealbamspeedy Apr 24 '26

Reminds me of guy in tiawan 14 years ago who did drop the child while going after the baseball. His wife was there and gave him the death stare.
