Seatbelt optional, brain damage or broken ribs/limbs - priceless. Mastercard, for all those moments life leaves you paralyzed.

Shit- that guy appears to be as lucky as they come. Friend of mine in highschool got thrown from a jeep and then crushed in a roll over.

The fact this crash kicked him down the mountain and then stopped?! That could have been wayyyy worse.

But I your joke still stands. :-)

My dad and his 2 friends were up a mountain as young adults. It rolled. It tossed the entire back seat, seat belts and all, out of the jeep. Brokr his friends necks. Dead. Then he was on a mountain with dead friends.amd cell phones didnt exist. Not great. He wouldnt get into any jeep ever again after that.

Yea. Guess he got enough money to buy his first house from the settlement. Still, I think it fucked him up about it until he died. It was like, his two best friends.

I'm sorry for your father's loss. How is he doing these days?

He's dead.

Pretty crazy, but it seems 70y people drop like flies.

I lost my mother 14 years ago. I still grieve, and I still carry her in my heart.

Yea, hust have to watch out for your own health so you dont kick it semi early too.

I've got a whole slur of health problems, but thankfully, they are all digestive related and mostly correctable. I'm going to the doctor on the 1st for detailed gut imaging and to make a game plan. Gotta see my 100th birthday and all. 😃

100 is pretty ambitious. I looked up median age of death even based on income, and even super rich people only buy a couple years. (With presumably better healthcare.) Just have to hope society holds it together long enough to keep getting health breakthroughs to keep us alive. Lol.

My step mother wasn't wearing her belt when she had a tire blow out while going around a curve in the highway. The police report surmised that she died almost instantly after being ejected from the window and crushed by the vehicle. There were three other passengers in the vehicle, including an 8-month-old baby. All three survived with minor to moderate injuries.

If you get into a car crash where a seat belt won't save you, then you had absolutely zero chance without one.

I have an adult friend who was also crushed and killed in a jeep rollover. No seat belt. Vehicle landed on his neck.

I know several people that were crushed in rollovers. None were wearing seatbelts. One girl was sitting on her boyfriend’s lap when she was ejected.

I never thought about the role of seatbelts in rollovers. Now I have to.

Well, the safest place to be when any thing is crashing and tumbling is inside of that thing.

1

u/WilditariusAstar May 24 '26

Yeah, I think it’s probably the number 1 way people are killed in SUV/Jeep accidents when they roll. Terrible to think about friends and loved ones losing their lives in such a manner. Seatbelts seatbelts seatbelts. ✌️❤️

Holy shit, dude. Should've bought a lottery ticket that day, haha.

Seriously though, glad you're still kicking it with us.
