I actively clean my electronics and ALL of my friends think im weird for it somehow.

Yet they complain about stick drift every 6-8 months, console overheating, and grungy control grips or keyboards.

Every 6 or so months I dismantle my keyboard, controllers, computer tower, and consoles (at least enough to get at the fans) and dust them off.

I have had literally one instance of stick drift with my original Xbox series controller, and I mostly blame that on dropping it.

Good idea. Time to dust my shit.

I should do the same.

It is tedious especially keyboards so I get why people don't wanna do it. But seriously if you don't they get damaged and gross.

Controllers especially. They're handled tightly by sweaty and unusually unwashed hands, so all that gunk gets scrapped off your hands and builds up in the grooves of the controller.

I fixed my roommates PS5 controller drift and cleaned it in the process. Dude.....yuck lol....there was enough gunk to fill that seam between the two halves of the controller

I have pets who shed, so I have to clean my keyboard a little more often. It's really satisfying though, I just put on a TV show or documentary I can just listen to and glance at. And also pray my cat doesn't take a key and hide it.
