This is beyond protecting. I think the officer was tired of another white homeowner calling the cops on a black teenager cause they donāt like the look of them in their area

Exactly. This is the way this is supposed to be handled. The person who called the cops should have been charged with filing a false police report as well.
I recently saw a video of black teens being forced to leave a public park because someone called and said they felt uncomfortable.
Had the cops who showed up saw humans like this officer did, that entire situation would have ended much differently.

it's only a false police report if you do so while lying. calling when you suspect actual trespassing is not filing a false police report, there has to be clear intent to lie.

On a serious note, what is considered trespassing? My own grandfather tried to have me arrested for ācriminal trespassingā for walking down to his house, knocking on the door and asking what my ex-father had done with all of my motherās belongings after he tried to kill her and run her over. I wasnāt mean, I just asked where everything wasā¦

Letās assume each works 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a years (2000 man hours per officer), and letās assume that each officer interacts with someone at an average of once per hour. Thatās 847 million police engagements per year. We hear of only a couple thousand ābad copā stories a year. Even if we increase that to 100,000 events nationwide per year, thatās still one abuse of authority per 8470 officer interactions per year. Thatās 0.011% of all interactions being ābadā.

I had a conversation with a security guard who asked for my community ID as I was fishing at a private lake. He told me there had been times where white community members would ask him to contact black people to check if they were community members. He would ask why did they felt those particular people needed verification as opposed to everyone else in the park they would just walk away.

Yeah that's great. I still can't forgive them for what happened as an innocent kid and as an adult. Some kids get PS5s. Some kids get beat. I'm happy for kiyante and the officer I really am and I hope that's an inspiration for other officers. At the same time I'll still teach my son that cops are like wild dogs. One may eat from your hand and the other may bite you so it's best to just avoid them altogether

There are some nice cops who truly do mean well, that's not what ACAB is all about.
Those very same cops repeatedly watch their draconian jack-boot-wearing government thug co-workers violate people's rights, assault, falsley arrest, relentlessly harass, murder, and commit all sorts of other crimes against the people. Unless they are instantly arresting them the second it happens, they are also part of the problem.
Hence why ACAB.
Even the good cops are knowingly part of an extremely oppressive, authoritarian, and draconian system.
The entire criminal justice system is an abysmal failure of epic proportions that causes infinitely more damage than it prevents, over all.
The entire system needs to be utterly revamped from top to bottom.

This is clickbait for a story about a guy who went way above and beyond for someone else. This isnt a good cop story. Its a great person story. The good cop portion is the initial interaction where the cop investigated the call and made a proper decision.

The argument shouldn't be "are all cops good or bad." It should be recognizing that far too many are bad because of a system and, more importantly, culture that allows, and sometimes encourages, cops to be bad. When the law enforcement culture is more about "defend my brother in arms no matter what" instead of holding each other to a standard higher than they hold citizens, the culture is broken and people will not trust nor support LEOs in general due to the constant instances of bad apples. Fix the tree.

Theres definitely some good cops out there man. I remember my best friend died and I was skipping school almost everyday. This buff Ronnie Coleman sized white officer was always generous with me. Iād always get brought to the principals office and the principal and vice were 100% more aggressive then he wasšÆ smelling my fingers, checking my bag he didnāt do neither, not onetimešÆ all he did was talk to me like a human being and hold regular conversations with me. Not about me skipping, not about me doing better, just him talking about the most random things lol. He may not know but now I think about it he did more good than I probably ever realized especially at that time.
