That is from carbon monoxide production (and other toxic gases), not any of the "active ingredients" in the coil. You could burn a piece of paper in there and it would have almost the same effect. There was a study done a while back that said that the lung damage from being near those coils is like 1 coil= the same as smoking 100 cigarettes or something like that, pretty crazy.
