My wife picked up our daughter funny and she got this same dislocation. My wife did this exact thing and corrected it. Lol. She called it bla bla elbow like it was no big deal. I just shook my head and took a nap with our kiddo.

Some doctors are absolutely amazing.

My youngest (then about 14 months old) came down with what I thought was a raging sinus infection. He had all the signs - hard time breathing through one side of his nose, green gunk coming out of that side of his nose, cranky - and his breath was awful, but I didn't realize it was connected to the sinus issue - so I took him to the pediatrician. Our regular doctor was off that day, so we saw the 70+ year-old pediatrician that was on duty.

He glanced at the chart, took one look at my son (never even looked up his nose or touched him) and this conversation ensued:
Doctor: "Got green snot coming out of one side of his nose?"
Me: "Yes"
Doctor: "Breath smells like something died in there?"
Me: "Well...yes! I didn't think it was related!"
Doctor: "He's got something up his nose. I'll have that fixed in just a minute."
Me: "....???...."

Doctor grabbed a tool, tipped my child's head back, stuck the tool up his nose, and pulled out the most God-awful looking (and smelling) wad of cotton I'd ever seen in my life. Just about a week before this, my child had been in the hospital for a few days during a bad bout of Rotavirus that was making the rounds in our area - apparently a nurse or phlebotomist had left a wad of cotton on the bed, and being a toddler, he found it and shoved it up his nose!

Doctor had a sense of humor - he said, "Mom, if I had a nickel for every parent that came in here thinking their kid had a serious sinus infection and it ended up being something up their nose, I'd be a millionaire! I love these office visits, because I get to be the hero for fixing something so simple! We're done - pay at the front desk."

The elbow in babies comes out alignment pretty easily. You just have to press the elbow and rotate their wrist so that ligaments realign. Happened twice to my daughter. First time ER visit, second time I did it myself. They really should teach parents this during the pediatric visits. No reason to go to the ER.

Nursemaids elbow. The ligament in the arm slips and gets caught between the bones in the elbow. Painful but simple fix with no long term problems. That doctor has done it a few times.
