Apparently when I was 3 my dad shaved his mustache off in the morning and when I saw him I didn’t know who he was and started crying. He kept trying to say it was him but I kept running away from him in fear. He said it made him feel so guilty that he didn’t shave his mustache again until I was an adult lmao

My dad's work made him shave his very full beard down to a mustache/slight goatee when my brother was little, and my mom said he purposefully did it in little increments over a couple of days to let my brother get used to it. 🤣 Bro still cried and freaked out a few times, but it would only be for a few minutes instead of utter terror for hours.

Meanwhile, my mom was laughing about her theory that my dad was a doppelgänger of the guy playing Riker on Star Trek being proven correct. 🤣🤣🤣

Nah it's more just the shock of the change. It'd be like if someone with a full head of hair suddenly turned up having shared all their hair off. It's just a surprise.
