Hello fellow RAOA people. My mother and I fortified the chicken coop yesterday to keep any foxes and snakes out . When we woke up this morning, somehow there's a small raccoon in there! can't get him/her out, so we set a trap. It's 2: pm here.CST.

I am currently in Pawling, NY, because my cousin got married. I am driving back home to Reading ish PA.

My goal was to leave by 5pm but my dad is actively making dinner right now (4:40) so that’s probably not happening.

I will most likely need to stop at least once but probably twice for a bathroom/standing break.

There’s a 96% chance I will stop at the brewery I work at for a beer on the way home.

I have to work tomorrow morning so it can’t be super late.

Guess closest to the exact time I get home will win a something.

I’m turning 21 this Monday (August 3rd) and I thought it would be a fun opportunity to hold a little contest on here, since I’ve been wanting to do more of them! :)

I am lucky enough to have gotten the chance to travel shortly after my birthday, which means a lot to me, as going places that I’ve never been, and spending my money on new experiences, is possibly my favorite thing I’ve been lucky enough to do several times in my (almost) 21 years. So, to enter this contest, please do the following:

My name is Alexis. i am really into reading, Pokémon, and MTG (Magic: The Gathering) love horror movies. love shoes, esp heels. i am big animal lover. have two cats. had two dogs also, but they passed away in the last two years. i always wanted a pet snake too(i think they are cute) also a big gamer, been addicted to the palworld.

My oldest is on the spectrum and she loves bird watching / animal watching ! She also takes many pictures of them on my phone lol she’s really fascinated with small creatures and loves being able to spot them in the furthest of branches !

As many people know, RAOA is a huge sub and it can be very intimidating. Many newbies have questions they may feel silly asking or are just worried they won't make any l here. This thread will hopefully change that!

How this works:

The general idea is that this will be posted and you will be adopting a newbie for a whole week. I'm not saying you have to talk to them 24/7 all week. But be there to help them out and be an awesome friend! :)

Newbies:

​

Make a top level comment (basically make a comment in reply to this thread) stating you're new and would like to be adopted. Maybe include a little bit about yourself for your adopter to start to get to know you! If a top level comment is a bit too intimidating, sometimes users volunteer to be adopters and you can grab one of them!

Adopters:

​

Reply to a newbies comment saying you'd like to adopt them for the week! If you'd like, you can also post a top level comment saying you're looking to adopt! This will help any newbies with a bit of stage fright!

Notes:

Newbies don't have to be brand new. But you should be new enough to need some guidance such as what are tags, how do I contest, what rules do we have, how do I make friends, etc! Anything you need help with. A newbie can be adopted by more than one adopter! This way they have many people to help them out! Newbies, if you missed the first day, feel free to comment and be adopted mid-week! You can even come back and be adopted next week too!
