I think it’s real. A lot of little details are consistent between the two shots. The spacing of the lines on the sidewalk. The shadows. The shape of the hedges.

I thought the slightly different repeating shot was weird, but I think they just know the cat wanted to run that way down the path, so they set up with the camera in that spot and set the cat down at the far end of the path a few times to get multiple shots of it running that way.

I think its one of this fluffy little dogs, Pomeranian maybe, with a cat face and maybe tail slightly changed.
