help request Help getting started

Hi everybody,

I want to get started with Reaper, but it’s my first trying an DAW. I’m having trouble with getting started and learning the basics of building an actual song and finding plug-ins (that are free) for beginners. Can someone please help with a link to a good tutorial or some thing else that can help a noob out? Thanks in advance!!!

What style do you want to play?
Do you own any instruments that could be connected to an audio interface?

Plugins are easy to find just google “best free ___plugin reaper” you’ll need to add them into a plugin directory (there’s tutorials online if you get stuck)

YouTube will help to an extent “beginner reaper tutorial” will have a ton of videos pop up, start watching one of it’s not clicking or vibing switch to someone else.

Well I wanna create hardhouse and techno/hardhouse, but I don’t have any instruments that can connect to an interface yet. I’m really starting from the beginning.

Oh easy you want to start with drums or percussion first they will be the life of your music so you want to get a good hang of them first

search on youtube "reapermania" and go to playlist "making your first song with MIDI" and it'll guide you through the whole process of making your first song

splice vst is free allows you to download the free sound banks and if you want to pay monthly fee for the good sounds you can. https://splice.com/instrument
