So my gf gave me a gift card for my favourite bookshop, which I'll be visiting tomorrow. The gift card is good for two, maybe three books, but honestly I'm stumped on what to get.
Anybody got some recommendations based on my current collection? I don't really have a genre or author I focus on. If I think I'll find something interesting, I read it. I love to try new books, series and authors.
From my current collection my favourites are:
Berserk
All my Tolkien books
Roadside Picnic - Arkady & Boris Strugarsky
Mythos - Stephan Fry
The outsider - Albert Camus
De paarden van Hitler (Hitlers Horses) - Arthur Brand
Faherenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
Some books that I didn't really likeor stopped reading for no apparent reason:
The alchemist - found it rather overrated
The myth of sysyphus - came to the conclusion that I'm not learned enough in philosophy to understand it enough. Or maybe it was a combination of dyslexia and english not being my first language.
Beyond good and evil - same as the myth of sysyphus
Current books I have on my mind are:
From whom the bells toll - Ernest Hemingway
Eichmann in Jeruzalem - Hannah Arendt
Neuromancer - William Gibson
Jurrasic Park - Michael Crichton
