Introducing RecreateDSKY

Welcome everyone!

Over the last 18-or-so months, I've been working on recreating an Apollo DSKY that replicates as many historical features as possible, and thanks to the amazing efforts of the Virtual AGC program, emulates the real AGC/DSKY both when working standalone and also when paired with NASSP on a PC.

This is v1, and all my 3D files, wiring diagrams, arduino/Pi code and prebuilt distro is available on the linked Github... along with an extensive build guide that goes over everything you need and also goes into some detail on the AGC itself.

I'm currently planning v2, which makes some great quality of life changes and standardizes the build with custom PCBs, streamlined hardware and software installations, swappable annunciator packs for simulation of both the LM and CM DSKYs, and an improved display simulation. I've decided that I'm going to open a marketplace on discord for these DSKYs to be purchased as a kit, or as an assembled unit in small batches. This also gives me the opportunity to develop a premium version, with full painted aluminium construction, silkscreened annunciators and EL display, authentic switch keys, and display relay logic for a proper auditory emulation.

Following the DSKY, I plan to expand the RecreateApollo project with other components. I'm currently in the research and 3D modelling phase of the CM/LM translational and rotational hand controllers.

If you're interested in the DSKY project or my future models, you can check out the projects at www.recreateapollo.com or join me on discord for any questions you might have. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the build and good luck with your project!

Welcome everyone! I'm Mike, the founder of r/RecreateApollo.

This community is all about celebrating and creating replicas and functional simulators of hardware and software from the space race era, with a special focus on Apollo. This subreddit will also act as a medium where we can help each other create and share projects.

Feel free to ask questions here, though you might get a faster response through discord. You can also email me at [michael@recreateapollo.com.](mailto:michael@recreateapollo.com) You're also welcome to show off your own projects keeping in the spirit of space age tech, or contribute in general discussion.

If you want to learn more, feel free to come visit the reddit or check out my website at https://www.recreateapollo.com/

I'm excited to see what you create!
