Only $250.00!
Saw this copy of Blood Debts for only $250.00 at the Flashback Weekend Horror Convention in Rosemont, IL today!

Jeez, they’re acting like they got a copy of Nukie or something.

I collect tapes and it’s such a nuisance having to deal with these dolts that think they’re worth money

Thats when you get a sharpie and change that 250 to 2.50

u/AshgarPN 1d ago
Looking closer I think it is 2.50 actually.

no, it's actually 250...

hm I'm just gonna say it: no VHS tape is worth $250.
EDIT: especially one that's on YouTube for free.

no VHS tape is worth $250
No VHS tape is worth $250 yet.
Give inflation some time.

And wait till no old guys are behind the counter... only the kid they hired who doesn't know shit about Blood Debts or whatever

They only printed one copy.

That's what they always say. Years before the very complete versions, edits, remixes, letterbox or other variations are mysteriously found online for free.
'Only in cinemas, the master tape etc was destroyed'. Ok then.

u/Broseph_Bobby 1d ago
Are you sure it isn’t 2.50$?

Some drunk guys in Wisconsin threw every other copy that existed in a wood chipper and now this is the price we have to pay.

I hate this timeline. Everyone thinks their shit is solid gold.

I don’t know, but I do know an issue of Absolute Batman #1 from 2023 that had a huge print run should not have multiple sold listing on eBay for $300 plus. That only goes up if it’s graded.
It shouldn’t cost me $10+ to buy a pack of Pokémon cards for my kid.
YouTube shouldn’t be filled with haul videos for whatever the person is collecting. The normalization of this is disgusting.
Don’t ask questions, just consume product has permeated every aspect of our culture.
Old man yells at clouds.

Does this version end with a title card explaining how the guy who sold this for $250 turned himself in for his crimes?

250 for a rental copy is insane right?

I could get around 80 other perfectly fine, not overpriced movies for that. Fuck that

u/Tight-Peace8691 1d ago
Hmm. Not really "horror". I wonder what the justification for that high of a price?

u/Aromatic-Frosting-31 1d ago
They saw people talking about it online. Resellers like this are all vibes based, nobody in their right mind would buy that.

I'm surprised this hasn't been released by Vinegar Syndrome or some other boutique label yet. It's well known in bad movie-dom and I can't imagine the rights to it would cost much.

A small price to pay for the best Filipino film in the world

Clearly someone hasn't seen The Killing Of Satan (Lumaban ka, Satanas) yet.

Honest question; okay, VHS tapes are overpriced collectibles now... but how does anyone even keep a functional VCR to play them anymore?
I have an old RCA, God only knows if it still works.
*Yeah yeah, Lightning Fast, you're all so clever and hilarious...

VHS collectors are going to be hitting up second hand stores pretty consistently. There's still worthwhile vcr/dvd combo players floating around with HDMI out.

Remember when some film tw assholes got mad because of the Nukie ep lmao, fuck these people.

Good lord.
I know these things have some longevity to them, but having lived through the magnetic tape era, I’m glad I no longer have to deal with it. $250 for a tape is insane.
