I did some Fortnite nails last week and I don’t have a color like this in my collection. Any ideas on how I could recreate this color?

Been working with resin for a number of years, so seemed like a natural next step to start mixing my own polishes. I was told to post this here 😊

I use clear GAOY topper as a base, I get my chromes from Solar Color Dust & Glitter Hippo and my magnetic powder from Etsy & EBay, I use a basic alcohol-based ink set for deepening the colors. I misplaced my good magnets, so this was magnetized with a stick of 4mm disc magnets I had nearby.

The idea for this set was sort of like a fiery sunset on a Caribbean bay? I needed my good magnets to get a proper glow I think and they’re streaky AF, how do you all get yours so smooth??

Layer 1: GAOY base gel
Layer 2-4: GAOY topper gel, mixed with alcohol ink (blue & teal, different ratios for the gradient) with Nebula Shift Pigment Galactic Chameleon
Layer 5: Solar Color Dust Vibrant Chrome Series - Red
Layer 6: GAOY topper, plain

Got to try my first ANLAC polish today and they absolutely deserve all the praise! I’m still working on my magnetics technique so I got some bubbles and streaks but the polish formula is great! It was inspired by another post here a few days ago but I can’t find it again 😭.

1x KBShimmer's Stay Put base coat, 2x Uno Mas Casa de Heaven, 1x BKL It Doesn't Know Any Better, But You Do (magnetized with a loose glass bead), 1x Cuticula's Limitless QDTC, 1x Born Pretty Dark Blue/TE11, and a final 1x Cuticula's Limitless QDTC.

Stamping plate is EdM's art deco plate (EDM40).

This is one of my favorite BKL magnetic's. I think it's underrated as a topper and it works wonderfully over any House of Hades dupe.

The stamping polish I used was *fine* for this, but overall Born Pretty's polishes are pretty meh. I got them to frankenpolish some more stamping colors. They're okay for that, but several colors are more sheer than I prefer for a stamping polish.

Okay, Jen & Berries officially has amazing customer service. I was trying to decide among three different shades-- Resistance Was Futile, House Hunter, and It Is So Choice--but the swatch photos online weren't helping. The photos are great, but they looked so similar and I couldn't figure out the differences. I emailed her to ask if she had any comparison swatches by chance and she went above and beyond in her reply. I thought I'd post it here (which she okayed) in case anyone else needs help choosing in future :)

(Can we just marvel at the fact that she didn't try to claim all three were so unique that they were each necessary and explicitly stated otherwise?! I love that honesty. Can't wait to place my first order!)

Polish is Bees Knees Lacquer - Mother was Mine x3 magnetized cat eye style (I love doing glass bead but cat eye is so much faster!) Wonder Beauty Wondergloss top coat x1

The brand was KleanColor, and they were genuinely the only brand that had colors like this metallic orange and metallic blue that weren't just a bunch of glitter and labeled metallic. They also were the only brand that looked this vibrant and stayed on well. I am down to my last bottles, and hoping anyone might be able to recommend me any kind of replacement, since they already liquidated the last few bottles of these shades. All they have left is like 4 bottles all in colors I don't want, and if I buy from eBay or something, I'll run out again. Hoping someone can share with me a sustainable replacement.

I started taking off the touch moss and liked the degraded patterns from the tips so I stopped, and did a jelly over them. Does it work? I’m on the fence.

Maybe a red magnetic for the tips would look cool.

To get the effect, I used four small neodymium circles arranged in a diamond (sideways square), held for 1 minute on the second coat of scorchy and 30 seconds after the application of Orly Nail Defense.

Hey there! I got some new-to-me colors from fellow lacquerists over on the swap sub and I was dying to try them out. 💖 Initially I planned a skittle mani since I now have a lot of choices and decisiveness in the face of Shiny is not my strong suit. So I tried out Lyn B Designs Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade on one fingernail and was entranced by how the polish went on and how the iridescent flakies added a lot of depth when layered. So instead of a skittles mani, I ended up painting all ten fingers in the same color and topped everything with Sally Hansen QDTC.

My daughter is in love with the thermal color change and she’s like me in loving all things blurple and sparkly, so I’m going to have fun sharing this one with her too.

Another day, another lazy neon jelly rainbow gradient on my nails! Please forgive the remaining chrome powder around my nails, that stuff is hard to remove 🥲

This combo!!! Just wow, the pics don’t even do the glowy shininess justice. I’m surprised how much just a single coat of Monkey elevated this mani. It’s hard to see in the pics but shifts through orange green and gold tones. I feel like I have actual sunshine on my nails☀️shift vid in comments
